1920s end terraced. Type with single gabel walls.
Back has historical subsidance
Front is fine.

Floor plan is small 2x 20ftx20ft rooms front n back and a kitchen off the side.

Front bedroom agains the middle wall(archway between downstairs room brick upstairs so must be structual)
This is where my grow room is..

Middle of the room towards outside wall and chimney is my grow as seen in the pic.

Atm i have a 200litre hydro tank.
But i want a grow bed.

Do i have 200litre x1 or 2x 200litre?

Will the floor collapse lol bin told its not a good idea by a few peeps and bin told its fine by others.

Its within the lb sqf.
But they said for long time its bad.

Then another said its like a wood bed 200kg and 2 mid sized people sleeping.
Or 8 teenagers jumping around there accepted so whys my. Motionless 400kg soil a problem?

One thing to note, if the load is closer to the end of the joists then it won't sag them as much as if it's in the middle of the span.

See what direction the joists run and where they are supported. Really the way to calculate the load a span can carry you need to know the joist dimensions and spacing as well as the type of lumber.

Honestly I think you are ok, when you put it into pounds it really makes more sense to me and 400 liters is 881 pounds. I would imagine that a water bed is pretty similar, larger foot print though.

Every home is different but in a rental's bedroom back in missouri I put four 4x4 trays with underneath reservoirs of 80 gallons each. Thats 320 gallons total, 2670 pounds lol.

Hahaha yeah no shit thats what i thaught my old house had an oak wardrobe we left due to its weight lol
And the kids cabbin bed... Well thats wasnt moving. Lol. Shit my loft was so full last year before i started groeing in it we filled me vsn 5 times over.

My fat friend weights the same as me bloody 80 gal bed, never had him come with warnings lol.

II feel its safe too. Beams run over msin wsll im right on the end of em so super safe its like a 200litre fishtsnk and a 200kg oak frame and glass too

PPeeps make me panic lol

I had a friend like that back in Missouri, dude was at least 550 pounds. He would sit on my fireplace bricks since it was the only thing he wouldn't break. Once he sat in a chair I had that was pretty beefy, it had arms. He sat down and it protested pretty loudly but it stayed together. When he got up to leave the chair was stuck on him (the arms on his hips) and when he pushed it off it just fell into pieces. The only thing that was holding it together was the pressure lol.

Another story about my big friend, one rottie I had was a major crotch hound. He had to inspect every crotch that came through the door. One day my friend comes over and sits down, my dog goes over and looks at his crotch slowly from left, to right, mouth agape like dude, this is gonna take a while.

If you have to question the weight of your grow you probably should question the structure lol. In my living room for example I have an entertainment center that's easily a couple hundred pounds, two couch's, a solid wood end table, +500lbs of free weights, me and my whole family (I weigh 220lbs) and countless other things in the room. ... With all that shit we've never had an issue for years. No bowing, nothing. Probably pretty safe in most structures if they've been decently cared for over the years.

is the basement ceiling drywalled? take a photo of the joists, take a picture of the beam, take a photo of the posts supporting the beam. get the unsupported distance between each post supporting the beam. get the on centre spacing of the joists. the nominal size of the joists, the nominal size of the beam and how many layers the beam is. ive seen some houses from the 1920’s that the joists arent even kiln dried lumber they just used trees they cut down that were on the lot when the house was built. if you take enough photos for me i can tell you if you should be concerned about the building structural integrity regardless of the weight you put on the floor. id need all this information to give you an honest opinion.

as grassburner said there's alot to consider. My quick answer is I wouldn't put that much weight there (but that's to be careful). You probably can, make sure that you have it across a few different floor joist. I would also put it either right above a supporr beam or next to an external wall (thats directly over the foundation). if I wanted to be Extra careful I would run 8" 2*8 perpendicular to the floor joist. with plywood on top (essentially bulding another floor so that the weight will be across 4-5 joist).

Ps I build stuff for a living so I would always rather over build

I can relate. Although I have never been near that heavy, I am 6'7" tall and weighed 290 at my biggest (down to 245 now) and I have broken a few chairs in my day. Mostly flimsy shit like cheap folding chairs and the like, but I once turned one of my aunts antique dinning room chairs into very expensive kindling.

I remember a Louie Anderson stand up routine where he said "What is it about us fat people? We come over to visit and we head straight for the wicker. We don't ease down into it either, just plop right down"
