Any Farmers in Alabama?

A guy just opened a hydro shop in Pelham... only one I know of anywhere near Birmingham (I think there's a hydro shop in Huntsville...) His business is slow but I hope he stays open. I've often wondered how many people grow in AL. At first I thought almost none since the weed is shit and expensive as fuck for the most part (that I've seen)... but then I thought about all the rednecks and woods and figured prob lots of people grow. But this hydro shop isn't getting much business, although the owner said lots of people are outdoors this time of year. I wouldn't have even known his shop exists if I didn't google hydro shops in alabama a few weeks ago. He doesn't advertise and isn't allowed to display a sign by the road because whoever owns the building is a southern baptist fuckboy.

AL seems like a really good place to guerrilla if that's your thing. Tons of woods and streams and shit, and when was the last time you've seen a chopper fly over Birmingham? Much less all the backwoods towns we have?

Anyone else from around here?
I'm up north from ya a couple hours, but I also have family down Montgomery area also, and yea, you're right, shit brown gold expensive shit down there :(

i hear that, i'm sticking with soil for now. i had ran cfl's but don't like airy buds so i'm going over to mh/hps and led's. i'm gonna try vert. with my hids and my grow boxes will be led. have looked into hydro, but i'm gonna wait for a better grow room.

right on... I'm actually running vert coco hempys right now and past 2 runs. Started with DWC but it requires daily attention and maintaining 8 individual buckets was some fuckin work. I wanted to convert to undercurrent so I would just have a single res to maintain, but making water tight plumbing systems is not as easy as I thought... and a 60 gallon flood one day while at work where I live would be disastrous. But I found a 4x4 100 gallon black light proof res I am going to pick up and run a single DWC system with 12 sites SoG style. I would even have the flexibility to ScrOG fewer bigger plants in the system. I use 2" net pots with foam collars and no media like hydroton or rockwool... it lets the roots hit the water immediately. Works out nicely because my little bubble cloner / seedling propagator has 12 2" sites.

I guess it's harvest time in Bama or even past harvest time for most strains (fuck if I know, I run indoors)... haven't really noticed many choppers but I heard they offer hunters rewards for turning in grow sites they might find.

haha nice avatar too.... that's about right :joint:

i'm west north west of b'ham and have seen and heard some chopper this year. i had some small late outdoors plants (july 22) and took them down for two reasons, 1 it was a freeze and had no indoor space, 2 because i had to have a surgery and knew i wouldn't be able to take care of them. had some nice buds, dried for over a week, and felt dry and stems would crack when bent. but after they were jarred i got mold even with burping. i believe i didn't have enough air movement around them while drying, so i believe the mold was there from the dry. o well it's time for indoor grows now. i'm gonna build me a new shop with a grow room, but right now i'm going to wire up the wives out building and put my grow box in it. i got a kick out of that pic and just had to have it.
