I'm aware....most ppl will get 2 plants in a 2 x 2. That light is sufficient for one.

I use an HLG 550V2 Rspec AND a Timber 2VL in a 4 x 4 in flower. Thats 680 watts from the wall. Both can dimm. 4 plants. The 550V2 Rspec can do it alone, but adding 200 watts of Cobs in flower is much better.

2x2 should never be more than 1 plant

Why would you do that? you can veg a 2x2 with HLG 65, $100.
Plants grow good in veg under florescent lights, they are underrated IMO. I started all LED for veg and now use T5 for most of it. They only go under LED once they are into their final 7gal pots and getting ready to be flipped. Very happy with how it's working.

not all use 5 and 7 gallon pots, most like variety, more then one strain

some of that grow looks larfy, actually

I'm not going to continue this, do what ya want

2ft x 2ft= 4 sq ft
95 watt draw
95 divided by 4= 23.75 watts per sq ft.
23.75 watts per w/o far red?
not enough to avoid larf

it's a rotation garden. only the front left plant is finishing. Point is you shouldn't assume people don't know what they're talking about. I'm not talking out of my ass i'm simply stating the manufacturer's specs.

You could diy a powerful, efficient fixture quite easily.

1 x MW HLG80H 48A driver ~ 30 quid

3 x 2ft Samsung double row F strips ~ 60 quid lm561c diodes

2 x 400mm lengths of aluminium angle ~ 10 quid
1 x 3 pin UK plug ~ 1 quid
A couple of m4 bolts a quid
2 x 4 way wago connectors 50p
Electric cable 5 quid
Around £110 - £120
No heatsinks needed!

I use 4 x Sankey 10 litre pots, 2 x 1 litre pots and a clone tray under something similar to the above light at 84 watts for vegging, clones.
That's the equivalent of 1.5 Quantum Boards with a far better distribution of even light to the canopy.

Yes to the DIY
U can also just get the driver from digikey as well save some hassle
Think it’s a bit cheaper too

On a side note I just built a veg light for a 2x2 that I won’t use as I decided to go 12/12 from seed and not veg at all

Pm me If interested

Digikey driver is dearer, TME EU is probably cheapest for EU/ UK buyers @ 27 quid, I believe :D

@weed-whacker can you post a link to the elg drivers?
I did a quick Google search and they're not easy to find, probably because I'm only outta bed and haven't had a gallon of tea to wake me up! Thanks.

Pretty sure it’s digikey

Which is why the drivers become cheaper

They charge VAT on the local price at customs

I ended up paying vat for 80 euro even though the invoice and actual amount I paid for the driver was around 45 and still had to pay the yanks their tax
