Any Hvac people? Thermostat is not working correcly

I set the AC to 74 and the AC doesn't kick on until 75 or 76 when it would kick on at the set number of 74...

Set it to 73.

Yeah then it does the same thing won't go off to 74 or 75... I have the air on all the time and it goes down into my basement where the plants are.

Yeah bought a new one one ebay exactly the same.... Just hope its not a wiring issue.

Depending on the type of thermostat, some older models have a "heat anticipator" switch that fine tunes the setting...It could have gotten bumped. Honeywell rounds have one...You can find directions on the web
