I drive a Honda Shadow 750 and a 99 Suzuki Hayabusa :D

The busa is wicked fast.

And I love driving the Shadow when I'm blazed, I don't ride the Busa blazed because you REALLY need everything moving fast in your head

I'm on a tight budget but if I had the money for it I'd look into an insane ducatti. That Kawasaki from earlier felt a bit worn out engine wise.

I dont really get Ducati's

I bought my Busa for 5500 w/ 13k miles and it does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds (never done that shit though)

Like, whats the appeal? There are bikes out there that go twice as fast as you will ever need to go for half as expensive as Ducati's

I'm not even hating, I just want to understand, WHY?

Getting My first bike in the next month. Ive been looking at the f4i and thinking of buyin one.

Also thinking about a gixxer 600,750 or a 636. not really sure yet.

My buddy got a 05 636 for his first bike and has never dropped it. Said its not the best bike to learn on though.

This probably isnt what you want to hear but you should probably get a street bike and ride that for a while (8 months or so) before you get a sport bike

That's guessing its your first EVER bike and you have no motorcycle experience...

But it's different with each area I suppose (Metro, urban, country), but it's always smart to start small and get used to riding on two wheels before you get on a bike that will do 150 easy - It's sooo easy to outride your skill level and end up in a situation where you loose control

When I got my first bike (still riding it) I tried to see what it could do within the first week... That was about 90 mph... If I would have had a sport bike I probably wouldn't be typing this right now

Plus, it's not like your stuck with it

buy a 4,000 bike, ride for a year, and resell it for 3,500, then go buy your 750 for 5,000

In the end it's all up to you... Sport bikes are not death traps, they are amazing machines that when used responsibly can be wicked fun, but as soon as you roll out that throttle, "Just for a few seconds, to see what it can do" your at 140 mph with about 200 feet between you and an accident with no looking back

The problem is im so damn impatiant. I know its my life im banking on but ive been wanting a streetbike since birth basicly. I really dont know if i could wait another long period of time befor i get one between my legs. I will have one by aug. 15. Maybe ill get a naked sv 650. Always liked the look and i dont think its a race ready bike.

It's a killer decision man, I know. :P

One possible scenario is, you get that bike, you love the shit out of it, and then something happens :(

It's what happened to the Busa, I'm getting it repaired...

I was taking it nice and slow, and I started into a semi-sharp turn when in those 10 seconds of turning (@ 50MPH, the speed limit was 45MPH) I caught the second largest gust of wind OF THE DAY perpendicular to my bike (Cross wind)

I had to look up the wind speed for a court date to battle the ticket I got for, "Inability to control vehicle resulting in an accident" or whatever... The wind gust was around 56-60 mph... The wind speed wasn't even that bad... 20 mph average or so, so I REALLY didn't expect it.

Anyway, I was entering the turn, hugging the curb, I started leaning and just then that gust started blowing, I leaned as hard as I could (wind was pushing me upright, also) but eventually I watched my tire inch closer and closer to the curb until it made contact... My tires slapped into the curb, both at the same time... And the bike went over me, rolled through the median, clipping a small bush, and sliding into the oncoming traffic until it stopped sliding, pinned up against the curb... I slid through 20 feet of gravel and about 15-20 feet of black top in oncoming traffic... my bike hit a truck or the truck ran over some debris and fucked up its tire... I stood up immediately and cursed god but I couldn't do shit about what happened afterwords

I narrowly missed two trees, they were spaced about 35 feet away from each other and I slid through them at an angle... A split second more or less and I would have, or the bike would have been wrapped around the tree... And also that was probably the only gap in the tree's/large bushes more than 5 feet in the entire turn

Most riders drop their bike within the first 6 months because of something stupid like popping the clutch or a fast stop... I almost did but I caught the 500lb bike before it hit the ground :P

Remember to get: Frame sliders, braided brake lines & sticky tires (Michelin Power One's or, there's some other equivalent)

It would also be a good idea to check your state for a DMV approved rider course (you can also obtain a permit, and then a real license in like 2 days of class - - - 3-4 hours of videos/discussion/reading, 2 days of parking lot drills and instruction)

They give you some 250's, they usually have like a kawasaki ninja's or some other cheap 250cc sport bike (can do 110 or so on the freeway) in an enclosed course... And they really dont care if you drop them, countless people have before...

Those classes let you focus on getting your skills, instinct, and manuvers down while under professional instruction in a closed course... It's worth it in my opinion, I did the classes and I didn't learn a WHOLE lot from what I previously knew, but my confidence was definately higher, and I learned how to maniuplate the bike... It's almost like taking some summer tutoring to get ahead of all the other kids in your class... Sure, youll eventaully figure it out, but only after a good amount of time...

Just remember you can never be too cautious on a sport bike. Because of the weight, performance and flat sides shit tends to fuck them up a lot easier, and a lot harder

Wow, Very sorry about your bus.

I remember a quite a few years ago i saw an All black hayabusa at the bank and its been my dream bike ever since. Always loved the aleek yet bulky look.

I was going to take the state classes But just about an hour ago i learned you need a valid drivers licesne, Something i dont have. Was planing on enrolling today and starting my 2 day class on aug 16 but that just put a damper in my plans.

ye i have, nice bike, all the superbikes r quite simular. the 750's r mental, but so r the 600's, only diff with the 1000'z is the torque, u dont have to drop down a gear on a good 1000, u just have to pin the throttle and ur gone!!!!!!!!
