Any One had FRUIT FLIES

Hi i think i might have fruit flies in my box
anyone know any way of killing them or getting & keeping them out
Any help would be great

What are the fruit flies after in your box? Iv'e had one or two show up in my room after a molasses watering they were going after the sweet stuff,what I did was put a piece of apple in a jar with a paper towel with a small hole in the top covering the top of the lid the flies went in the jar then were relocated outside.

you mean fruit gnats? this is what you do, let the soil dry out completely, then put a 1 inch layer of sand ontop of your soil, will smother their larvae you'll see them dwindle rapidly, and come back, just keep at it, let soil dry properly between waterings, use sand maybe invest in some Neem Oil

He said fruit flies man not fungus gnats, now I wonder which one he has since one will cause damage and one will not I don't think sand does jack for fruit flies since they will plop down eggs anywhere.

I have had them throughout my grow and they did not seem to do any damage. Although I did enjoy killing them when I could.

Not sure how well this would work for the plant cause i had concerns of it when my buddy did it, but if you go to your local hunting shop or to walmart even and get the citronella coils, that should take care of the ones flying around. they burn with a smoke that the bgus cant stand kind of like a incense stick, but as far as the larvae go, im not sure...or you could get some venus fly traps.... thats all i can think of for a non-chemical rid. But the apple in a jar trick sounds great too.
