just got off the phone with security at the Edmonton airport they say I can carry it in my carry on or checked luggage just have my paperwork in hand they will verify the paperwork with the rcmp so give a little extra time incase the cops are slow. they claim the 90 minutes they ask for all people to be early will be plenty of time I will be there 2 hours early it is a 4 hour flight so I will be well medicated before hand and hopefully flying about one mile higher than the plane. I will be flying out of Edmonton Ottawa and Toronto will post the results of that when I get back later in July

I have. call ahead day of and let them know what time your coming. Just in case they wanna call the cops to verify your script. I almost missed a flight in Toronto because I had to wait for the cops to show up and verify my info

well I made it back leaving edmonton I told them I had medical pot in my carry on and that the paper work was with it the security guy said that is not a problem have a nice flight sir. now leaving Ottawa was a little different told them the same thing got the same responce then stepped through the metal dedector no problem but the security guy on the other side says hold your hands out in front of you then he wipes a white swab all over me then feeds it into a machine it says anilizing and comes back ok then he asks me if I want a strip search or the or the full body scan I took the full body scan I asked him why I had to do this and he said the machine randomly picked me there was no machine that picked me it was him but made it through anyway all in all it was not to bad and this only took a few minutes to do.

I just flew Whitehorse to Vancouver. I put it all in a bag with all the other shit I have to take, shoved the pink slip into an envelope and put it in my carryon. I called a couple of days beforehand told them who I was and where I was going nag what I am. Told me to be ready but I gotta tell ya....I was more nervous legally travelling then I ever was illegally. So hopefully things go just as smooth tomorrow on the return trip. I hate that random scan/search thing too.

I don't get calling the airport ahead of time. Many people fly every day with medication and as long as the name on the bottle matches the name on the ticket, you are good to go.Singling out marijuana patients for scrutiny and police interrogation is discriminatory. What are the cops going to do to verify your pink slip on the spot? It's just a bunch of bs designed to keep pot smokers second class citizens. I don't fly often and the two times I flew with my mmar, I said nothing and they didn't find it or care. Flying out of a small airport on Vancouver Island, I guess the later. My thoughts are that I need not advertise or announce the medication I use any more than grandma needs to with her blood pressure pills. If it happened to me I'd be inclined to sue for discrimination as well as the stress and embarrassment. A few good lawsuits will change the practice.

It's just one of those things we have to deal with for the moment. It does suck I agree. My room was another issue. I stay where there is a balcony for obvious reasons. Yesterday when I got back and the room had been tidied, there was a no smoking sign that suddenly appeared. I thought you've got to be kidding me. I am practically storing my meds on the balcony so it doesn't smell...but then I guess they could have forgotten to put it in the room originally.

I am sitting at YVR right now and it was the weirdest thing. My kid is type 1 diabetic and we've been travelling to Vancouver for years for check ups. I was never more nervous boarding an aircraft as I was doing it legally. I could feel my hear pounding and I couldn't believe how nervous I was. They didn't even look in my bag. The times they are a changin'!

I have never flown without it. Even in Chicago in the 90's-now wet coast...etc..I always carry it on my person. As long as you don't have a metal pipe (1990's):) plant matter doesn't set off any alarms or anything. Dog's are there for intimidation. I remember smoking one hitter's in the ohare bathroom before flying. Don't worry, enjoy yourself. Watch "Midnight Express" AFTER you fly:) check out bubbleman on Facebook, he's been posting pics and videos of him vaping hash in airport's lately. Great bubble bags too.
