any strain suggestions for a 1st time grow?

Hey everyone. I have grown autos and I am wanting to try a photo type of plant. I was wanting to know, what would be a good strain for a 1st timer? Should I grow indica or sativa? I am seeking a easy, simple, short growing, ok yield with a good smoke. any suggestions would be great.

A fem seed is a good choice for a first grow, Sweet Deep Grapefruit, or Power Kush are good choices (among others ..)

I am growing c99 from femaleseeds and it has been a breeze... Grows fast and I have a feeling it is going to be potent when its finished. Great for indoor and scrog.

The easiest plant I have ever grown was blueberry.
I heard horror stories about it being a bitch, but she grew well for me.
And was fire that smelled like juicy fruit gum. But I grew em in Dwc.
Afghani's are pretty easy in my opinion too.
I'm sure whatever you choose will be a winner.

As long as it's good strain and you read info and fits your needs should be good. I would recommend dinafem too.

Yep I was going to recommend C99 from Female Seeds but someone beat me to the punch.

The Church - Greenhouse seeds. Cheap, easy as hell. Mold resistant, can grow bomb indoors and out, even in bad climates. Believe its Skunk, super skunk, northern lights, and swiss sativa.

I recommend Big Buddha Blue Cheese. It’s my favorite strain I’ve had so far. It’s an easy to grow strain with a potent but relaxing and sedative indica buzz. Good for in the evening when you want to chill on the couch and watch a movie or play some video games. It grows short, thick, and compact, with solid heavy sticky skunk nugs covered in trichomes, it starts frosting up early in flower. Will need support for the heavy nugs late in flower. Perfect strain for scrog or Sog. She yields heavy, especially if you top it at least once. She also finishes quickly, in about 8 weeks every time for me. Clones easily. It is a strong and funky smelling strain, so odor control is a must. Tastes fantastic, only takes a hit or two to get you stoned to the bone, and the buzz lasts for a couple hours. I love the BB Blue Cheese; I don’t think it will ever leave my garden.

Glad to see the love for Female’s C99, I just popped a bean of it about ten days ago!

I know you said photo, but auto berry from auto seeds is the best strain i have ever grown. Here is a pic.




Hashberry, satori, and white satin from Mandala seeds are cheap, quick and productive. They are photo.

I started with skunk 1 from nirvana.i did a crazy miss Hyde this past spring & that was very easy going.

You are going to be your worst grower ever on on your first grow - get it over with fast with the best yielding strain of the most potent weed. The mistakes that you make will compound each week, longer flowering strains will show more and more ill.

There are a lot of good strains above. My favorite that I have never grown is Endless Sky by Dr Greenthumb. It has a 6 week pheno that you might be lucky to get, yields well and is potent.

I'd also recommend a feminized seed so you don't have to worry about planning how many seeds to plant to get enough females to fill your garden. Learn to clone as quickly as possible to maximize your garden's yield and potency.

white widow, or to put it better, :black widow, is an easy thing to grow. also, nirvanas "aurora indica". stays short, big buds, strong limbs, mostly indica.

I second the opinion of sticking to something fast and easy to grow. That means an indica or indica dominant plant, for the most part.

Northern lights is cheap, low scent, fast to grow, potent, good yielding, disease pest and drought resistant.

Only downside its a little "piney" flavored.

But you could do a LOT worse.
