Are they autos or not because if they are autos then don't top them if they are photoperiod then you can top it won't hurt it.
I like to go for around 12-16 main colas

The oldest one is a month old from clone they were having super slow growth so I didn’t think it was a good idea... there root mass are much better now so hopefully they take it well
