I normally cut the plant into individual branches no larger than my forearm. i find it dries much more evenly if they are fairly uniform in size. i use a clean pair of pruning shears for this task. if possible hang these to dry in the space just outside of the tent/room where the air intakes from. this typically allows for some air circulation without direct light or fans and keeps the smell down.

I always take my lady into my Veg room and say a prayer, for her, :) then I cut it down lo to the ground. then take her in the house and use a very good pair of fisker's and cut all buds and put the leaves into a container for a later date, I then bring them to the drying area, where I put them on a Screen for a few weeks turning often to dry uniformed. after a few weeks, I then move them to Mason Jars and continue the Curing Process by opening the jar several times a day, and I will actually turn the jar a few times just to move the buds around and help Curing be gentle to not ruin the bud. You will be able to tell when they have cured Proper, depending on the Humidity in your drying area will cause different cure times.
I've also noticed that if you Use a light in your curing room, your bud may turn Brown, I don't know why it did that but I can tell you I tried it a few times just to see what was causing that, and to my surprise it really seemed like the light cause the browning. IMO.

Good luck and Happy Trails :)

I've used the spring type scissors for trimming but feel that squeezing against that over and over will cause carpal tunnel symptoms. Picked up a pair of Chikamasa B-500SRF for my woman and now myself and love them. We took down a plant last weekend and it was a breeze. Another tip is to use plastic/nylon razor blades to scrape scissor hash off them; keeps the fluorine no-stick coating intact.

I have arthritis and the spring loaded fiscars are good for me bc it's the opening action that hurts my hand and of course holding big ass buds lol

And a lot of stink! It permeates clothing too, so taking a break and going out to eat can be uncomfortable when you realize that you reek of fresh herb.
Lol.....my wife always has to remind me not to go straight from chopping to the school ....I hate trimming I'm glad I've got a bit before I have to chop/trim again ......even though I just recently finished a final manicure on a few lbs because of rainy weather keeping me inside .....I'm happy for the break

Depend how many plants. Branch by branch if a few or trims the whole plants of allot. If allot you can also get a mash... be careful it is still able to mold if allot.
