found a dead, eviscerated gopher next to a plant this morning - I think the neighbor's cat killed it then dragged it into the garden. that's what I hope anyway, and that it wasn't killed in the garden - I don't see any gopher holes inside the fenced area... anybody dealing with these guys? all of a sudden I wish I was in large containers instead of the ground... shoulda lined them holes with something!

Haven't had a problem personally - but know a guy with a really bad gopher problem. He did line his holes, but the gophers found a way to get through a few of them. What he ended up doing (and has now done this for several years) was placing bamboo poles around the perimeter of his garden (every 5 feet or so). On each pole, he attaches a pinwheel. Literally the cheap kind you might see kids carrying around. When the wind kicks up, the pinwheels go crazy - which apparently vibrates the bamboo poles just enough to create a bit of ground vibration, which apparently keeps the gophers away. I can't vouch for it personally, but he swears by it. And he loves to brag that the entire setup cost him less than $20. Hope that's the only gopher you see this year! Good luck!
