Problem is tobasco sauce vs ketsup.

You put ten drops on your pizza and then put the bottle away. Maybe two tobacco bottles a year. You (well...some folk) put ketsup on everything.

Lots of folk smoke half an oz a week, nobody eats half an oz of fungus a month.

And there is that near instant tolerance.

When I found some guy who was brand new in an area sales were hot until there was an ounce in the freezer of every one of the guys people. Then..not so much.

There is the novelty of the stuff...it wears off when it's always available.

If you know what you are doing I suppose you could turn a profit at $350 but consider the cost of the overhead. Heating, drying, space, light, cooling...it adds up.

There is also the waste trail.

Variety keeps people interested to an extent. Until they also realize a cube is a cube. Really the reason I started was because I read alot about the benefits and couldn't find any, then I started to love the hobby and wanted to see and feel all the different strains. It's been pretty time consuming. Easy but monotonous, alot of boxes going bad too.

They are sold Out right now, but how often do they restock them? I'll need one in approximately 45 days. With mycology I've been pretty indecisive about alot of things due to me not really knowing if i really need certain things and dont wanna spend alot of money when i dont need to. Not wanting to step outside my comfort zone and try new things along with tons of info that I've read online these last couple years with alot of differing opinions and experiences. So I've been really procrastinating on getting some things I need and trying new things, now I'm at a stand still. I want to progress so I'm just gonna get the things that I need to raise my success rate and experiment with the endless things I can do and figure out what works best for me. I'll be able to narrow down where contams are coming from. Wanna try bags out for sure, but I feel like I'm gonna need flow hood for those more than jars. I'm gonna need a bag sealer too. I wanna start working with agar and taking clones. I'd like to be able to just pull 60 syringes from a qt jar of lc all at once and store them so I have them on hand, I wanna be able to test it on agar. Do Grain to grain. These are just examples of things that I don't feel comfortable doing without a flow hood.

those are 1800g’s hydrated of a milo/millet in 10T bags. 6 per cooker.

Just got both the bags today. Xlsa and 10T. Wondering if I should hold off on the bags until I get a sealer and flow hood. I could spawn the jars to the sub bags but don't know if it's it's worth the risk.

Another good thing to do is chocolate Bars. It's something different, easier for people to eat, and preserves them. Buddy just got a batch of the dmt carts and they all easily went for 200 each. Something I'd like to learn how to do also. I love the ease of use of the carts and dmt feels so clean and doesn't last too long. I like to hit it here And there throughout the day sometimes. You can micro dose or blast off.
I've actually had this thing for a couple months and use it regularly and barely put a Dent in it.

Whatever you do, do not load up the bags where you been loading up your tubs! Lol.
With what i’ve been through, I don’t trust anywhere except in front of flow hood.
But once it’s safley loaded in, and your spawn is clean of course, it’s damn near impossible to pick up contams. And also, when you chop down the first flush, ideally you’ll want to do it in front of flow hood too.

The room with the tent and boxes is where I do everything, But the room has carpet, so I've been trying to do it inside the grow tent. I just started doing it in the kitchen though For fear of The millions of things that are probably stuck in the carpet. I'm gonna either cover the carpet or tear it out soon. I'll hold off on bags till I get the flow hood though. I'm thinking about going back to shoeboxes in the meantime, rarely had problems with them just don't have room for alot of em.

Ok. Consider injecting the bags directly from your lc. No hood necessary.

Cook the bags, seal them and then inject them w 20 cc.

I have a bag sealer on the way so I'm sure I'll wanna try it out. May even use corn instead of wbs. My main worry is spawning them. I could try an all in one bag for the hell of it. I have some of those black rubber circle stick on ships I can stick on the bags.

When I PC my substrate, when is the best time to take it out of the PC? Lately I've been waiting for it to cool over night and I wonder if that's risky using turkey bags folded over. No filter, and in the PC.

Im sure out west its alot more flooded than the eastcoast. And ya using grow bags once and tossing them would kinda sucks but im sure theyre affordable in bulk. Don't they have biodegradable bags now. There's definitely alot of waste in tubs like trash bags, masking tape, mp tape, jars, jar lids, packaging for all the ingredients, gloves, etc.

If my tap water has 7.5 ph I don't see it dropping too much from these blank substrates. I checked the ppms of the coco doing a slurry test a while back and the was barely anything in there. If I remember right less than 50 ppm. Especially with tap water with 7.5 for ph and 150 ppm. I could see the ph dropping if the ppms in the coco were some type of nitrogen but not much unless I used distilled to hydrate.

When I was doing larger loads in the XLS bags, for a casing layer, they don’t end up sealing that well but they do. Not sure about turkey bags, but i would imagine iff you can neatly fold the pleats of the flap and fold it over it should work.

remember with all bags in the PC, allow the cooker to naturally drop pressure on it’s own and then still wait a while after until opening for that seal. Especially if you don’t have the flow hood yet. Oh and you really should put an extra trivet on top of the bags before putting the lid on for safety reasons.
As far as my regular fruiting bags this is how they look loaded up and folded. These are about 1550g’s, which are a 1/3 batch of that same cvg load you and I make.

This is how I load them. I only do 4 per cooker of those 1550g bags. 6 per cooker is pushing it.

and this is what they look like when they come out. All nice and sealed. There’s no air getting in these bags unless you pull at the pleats. This was actually a load i let cool down over night.

That ph test I did earlier in the thread was from this new coco i been getting. But it hydrated with 7.5 water, then sterilized then i squeezed out enough to test. Ended up 6.6. Never did test what the coco bliss ph ended up.

So the coco is high 6 then? Seems about right really.

One thing on my mind is the temperature of my room. Since the weather is changed it's been hard to keep the heat up in there. I have a space heater In there, but lately it's been getting down to 70°. I've been trying to keep it around 75°. But even that seems a little bit cold, Like when I feel my jars. They feel cold to the touch, And when I walk in my grow tent, it does seem a little chilly for their liking. I'm gonna try shutting the door To the room and getting the heat up to around 77. I feel like the cold is slowing everything down. I have a temperature probe for the tent, a thermometer in the room, and a thermostat on The space heater And at times they all read something different. Usually lower than the space Heater thermometer. Thinking about it. I did have this issue last year too. Something that i'm looking into.

The new LC recipe seems to be working well. It's only day 5 and have a lot of growth.
