anybody tried ever using halogen lights? need help please! newbie here!

No, don't even go there.
Read up on the cfl forum if you want dirt-cheap lights.

Don't do it...too hot, not right...
You aren't the first to think it might be...
CFLs are not terribly good either, but they will work, just not well when compared with HiD lighting...

ok thanks for the info

i have thought of using it to cut down cost on buying, and i thought that the higher the watts the better.

Its not about wattage, its about PROPER SPECTRUM. The color of light produced by that light will deteriorate the inner cells of your plants and make them droop and take up disease. If you flower with those bulbs the light spectrum will dissolve the trichomes and ruin your essential oil pruduction. Read about light. There is an EXCELLENT section about lighting in Ed Rosenthals most recent grow manual.
A small T5, an LED or even a 250 HPS would be more beneficial than that death bulb you are considering using.

higher watts is good, but 10000w of the wrong spectrum will still do nothing but waste your money and time. listen to what you have been told. read and then read some more, or waste your money and come back and ask why your plants arent growing or are dying.

lumins, is a much better gauge of the quality of light produced by a bulb. Typically with in any category increasing watts does increase lumins also. and by category i mean cfl, mh, hps, led, mercury vapor, halogen, ect.

and in the end leds prove that you can get by with a lot less watts and lumins if you consolidate the wave lengths.

tips:
cfls work well enough for veg, especially if your not on a fast time line and are waiting on room in your flower room anyways.

t5s work better for veg than cfls

and MH or good leds are the best for veg.

to me it feels like a waste of time and effort to flower under anything other than HPS, i know LEDs work great for a lot of people but i don't have 4 or 5k to blow atm.

and if your strapped for cash and cant afford a 150$ 600 watt hps/mh then your still in luck!

the sun makes a great light source for anyone short on cash. it obviously also has its pros and cons but your results will still be alot better then shining your headlights on your plants.

also about the lights you posted, do you have an 80 watt DC power supply? i would imagine by the time you rigs up a contraption to make those bulbs work you will have invested as much as a hps costs. just some food for thought =)

i wanted to buy a book but i don't have enough cash.

so my target for tomorrow is other type of light. by the way what do you call the lights with blue rays in it, the one that is good for vegging, and also what do you call those lights that have red rays that is good for flowering?

thank you for clarifying it

can you please tell me what the correct spectrum in a simplest form (i kinda having a hard time understanding if the words are too deep).

thank you sir

if i'll be using led, what type of led will i use? my problem is i dont have much knowledge on led and other lightings.
i'll be going to the hardware shop tomorrow, what will i ask to the salesman because he might show me a lot of lights and i don't know what will i buy.

My best recommendation would be to start with a T-5 light system at minnium. you can grow a couple small plants to start off with and learn. When you are ready to advance to a real light , you can use the T-5 to clone and vegg with . no real money gone to waste. Light will be benificial to future frow ops. You can purchase a decent 2 ft. 4 bulb t-5 for around $80 .

this is good advise, if your broke the best thing you could do wouldbe to throw a couple in the ground, sell one and buy a light system. you have just enough time to do it. get your beans in by the end of this month and you can still get something.
