Anyone cured in glass jars in a refridge before?

Hi i'm trying to avoid the mold that happens to my plants after being in jars for 4 months. So I decided to put low humidity in the crisper and put the jars in there. Now its like day 7 and they seem to be doing fine except for the condensation on the Jar.

So has anyone done it this way before? Any tips or tricks or things I might not know I should know about it? (also my plants ARE dried right before they are jarred)
 
Never tried that but get a caliber 3 hygrometer, get rh 55-60%
no mold

This is good for long term storage, 60-65 rh is the cure zone.
 
With condensation in the jar, even on the outside, I wouldn't risk it. At least tray to put the jar inside a bag with a ziplock or something.
 
I've never had any mold even after many months. Maybe the bud isn't completely dry when you jar it?

That is a possibility. I used to dry my plants 2 weeks in a dark closet with air pushing through. It never dried because our Humidity up here gets to the 90%. I am getting them as dry as I can without hay smell though. In other words the stems properly SNAP
 
I usually jar before stem snap, then burp jars.

At 20 a pop I have 5 hygrometers and rotate them. Well worth it IMHO.

You must be lost. The 'hay smell' most refer too occurs at the start of curing, not later in the process. If your buds are moldy after 4 months in the jar then they were put in too wet. Harvesting, drying and curing is a process, same as baling and storing hay. Its better to go into the jar a bit dry than too moist. Growing is the easy part. What happens after the harvest divides the ho hum from the dank......

It would mold while drying... Which is why I now have to dry with air conditioning. Luckily I don't sell pot because of how much I spend to get my medicine there would be no profit. I just accept this is cheaper than buying an ounce every 2 weeks.

I know what you are saying though. Its just that our 90% humidity is a nightmare for people wanting to dry weed, it can't dry after its with the humidity of the outside air. I live on the same island as the wettest spot on earth.

Feel for you on the humidity. We get a few mos. in the 90's.
Hint;
I take a 2 pound bag of whole rice,, bake it for a hour around 170. This dries it right out, though it shouldbe dry in the bag.
From the oven to a 1 gal. jar. Make a envelope from newspaper and place your sorta dry bud inside ,with a hygometer and seal. add that into the jar.
I'll draw the moisture right down evenly.
May need to repeat the rice into the oven a second time if it saturates before you hit your number.
After awhile, you read the buds humidity, and you get a idea of how much rice it takes to draw it down to cure RH,, then add more to bring it to under 60 for storage (if desired). Gets easy as pie after a couple passes. (& no mold)

A little PIA,, but not bad when you get used to it. Better than risking moldy bud centers.
I also try to grow moderately loose buds too. Not tight nugets.

Oh I got air conditioner and a big dehumidifier. I need them. They make it so expensive that there is no way i'd ever sell pot because I woudln't even break even and I still wouldn't have pot. Hawaii electric is quite expensive. So yeah I use all that so i'm not paying as much for my medicine as I used to, and I get to grow my own medicine (which it turns out I love doing and didn't know) so I can choose what strains I eat.

Yeah I too top so I have many arms instead of one big cola for the mold on the plant alone. Thank you so much for the advice, i'm gonna try that out! Would rolling it in a paper bag rather than put into newspaper be much of a difference?
