Anyone else have to neglect their family because of their hobby this year?

I told my roommate something similar. There may come a day when he feels inclined to let go of resentment and try to forgive. He gave me a skeptical look but I personally found once I hit 30 I was able to let go of some of the bitterness I developed toward life. I think once you get older and attend more and more funerals you start to feel differently about the ones you love, even if that love is reluctant and undeserved. He is only 22 and the memory of beatings, verbal abuse and yes, neglect are still fresh in his mind. Simple fact is, once he got away from his family his life improved greatly. Today he feels justified in ignoring his family, and I can't say I disagree with him.

We've spent time throughout the day as we ALWAYS do, not on just one day of the year because someone says it means something. I'm old school and family used to mean a lot more than it does nowadays, everyone runs off to their own room , they have their own devices and forms of entertainment. This isn't the 60s/70s anymore , its a different day. I just don't like seeing people dog one dude when they don't have a detail one.

I don't think anyones dogging him honestly, I think their intentions are to get him out of the grow room and with his family... is there any part of that statement I JUST said that you disagree with?

edit: i don't think the image of family has degraded as much as you think.... there are lots of people who still live by the same idea of a good family... and it's not like it's impossible to get this back if it was strayed away from in the first place...

I think they really don't give a fuck if he gets out of the grow room or not and quite frankly my beliefs are that its nobodies business but his , although, he did post on a forum , that doesn't entitle everyone to lay judgment on him and label him as an asshole.
Its kinda like those fake ass religions, they just wanna push their own ways on him, they aren't concerned in the least for his welfare, its pretty much human nature to hate and condemn what you feel is wrong, and what you feel is right/wrong isn't always what someone else feels.

I'd rather fix any issues with my Mom than smoke _ thats just me, I hate smoking when there's unresolved energy. But, if the guy doesn't want to see them on Xmas, so be it, that's the same as him inviting over his family but they can't make it because they have plans already. I just wish everyone didn't call each other names. Especially on a day when we are all alive? I mean it literally is another day, and spiritually it's special and either way, we are still alive - whether if it's to take care of your plants or eat turkey.

I gotta ask though, would the people who don't necessarily agree with the thread still smoke the dudes harvest if he invited you over?

Yeah family aint family no more. Matter fact fuck family and the holidays that come with it, all my set backs and scars came from family, the new family is people like me same agenda same intrest. Family is an excuse and a name to just fuck each other over. I get along with my girls family very well because were not related and we like to help each other out because we know that if we dont get along shit aint gonna be right and we can say go fuck yourself and leave, family have in there mind that they can fuck you and we will make up someother time, hell no not over here you can get it just like the rest of the faggots out there. Some ppl isnt bless to have good friends and fam. I have all crabs and crackheads, so all you family lovers cool, but there is other deminsoins in life that isnt peachy so leave the man alone and dont judge the dude. My advise is stay away from the non belivers especially family the will hit you the hardest do not trust them. Money and blood dont mix like 2 dicks and no chicks find yourself in serious shit. My family is $$$ it always got your back. Good luck bro.

OP never said anything like that, he never stated he didn't want to see them. In fact I think it was more or less he was looking for comfort and actually did have to stay with his plants for some odd reason. Heisy's roomie on the other hand should try to patch things up, people die before you get a chance to make amends and thats not a good feeling.
