anyone experience growlush tent light leaks?

hi guys.

I bought a Growlush tent (australian), and i have noticed that when the hps light is on and the tent is all zipped up, that light emanates from the zips. Not like a light leak as such just a warm glow coming that is visible through the white zips. Even thought there is black flaps that go over the zips, you can still see light through the white stitching etc.

I am sure that this is normal as it is uniform throughout all the zipped/stitched areas of the tent, and i also have a smaller cloning tent which does the same.

I figured that because the hps is so bright that this is the case, but thought that light from outside probably isn't getting in (i also thought that surely the manufacturer hasn't made a tent that doesnt 'work'). Should i be worried?

Has anyone used one of these GROWLUSH tents before and knows what i'm on about?

Same problem man! I have a tent and its ridiculous how much light leaks out of it.... So much for the stealth aspect... However I put in in a closet and all is good now! I just have a problem with the noise of my fans. I just put an air purifier in front of the closet so no one questions it. Hah. Just try and get creative... All you can really do. Good luck!

i'm not too worried about the stealth aspect, as i've got my own place and it is in a walk in wardrobe, im just thinking about light getting in and stressing plants during 'night' cycles?, as i have the lights off during the day, and although i can keep the door closed, the girlfriend goes in a few times a day to get clothes and shit.

So i don't really care about light coming out, more about light getting in (sounds dumb).

Not even close. I actually just got it. I'm quite excited to see how things are going to turn out though!!

My tent is 90cm x 50cm x 160cm
i got 5 bagseed 2 and a half weeks into flowering, so far so good.


i don't think there is any hermies, pretty sure 5 female,
the tent has worked out great so far (minus this light thing), got a cool tube 400w hps, with black flexible ducting leadin outside tent to an odor sok. DIY flood and drain, with canna nutes an h202.

i cant get good close ups with my camera phone but, can get pics of the whole tent inside and out pretty good.

I have th 2x2x1m one, has the same but I had it in a spare room with curtains closed and stood inside it one day all closed up and it didnt show thru.

i have the 2m x 1m x 1m and im happy
sure there is a glow from the seals, and the flaps on the bottom for air flow
doesnt seem to be a prob
i have 12/12 600w HPS inside and 18/6 400w MH outside (in the same room) and they dont seem to bother each other.
only had a couple grows so far but i cant complain

it seems i had nothing to worry about. It's my first grow and was thinking some of my girls were hermies (from light stress), but all have white hairs spewing out of what i thought were nuts (YES!).

I got 5/5 girls from seed, is this pretty uncommon (meaning 1 or 2 might be hermie or male)? or quite possible?

Im positive that they are females as there is white hairs everywhere, except on the very lowest branches but the lower ones seem to be developing as the days go by. The only reason i doubted my ability to tell sex was cos of 5/5 females - i had prepared for roughly 50%

heh and i got 5/7 males ....

sorry to here about the males, if it makes you feel any better, mine have gone hermie

if they all hermie, grow them anyway, you'll get buds and seeds that are mainly fem.

just bought a growlush from aussieponics, i can see what your talking about..will be fine for vedge, but i dunno how dark it will really be when the lights are off

aluminium reflective tape will take care of all of your light leak needs

my budbox does the same, i used to be a bit paranoid about it and draped a towel over the sides that weren't against walls, but i think they would be alright, its just becuase hid bulbs are intense i don' actually think any substantial amount of light gets in...then again i'd hate to say that and you get hermies......maybe get a mate to zip you up inside the tent wait for your eyes to adjust and see if you notice anything

Hey guys I'm looking at a grow lush tentand light combo for $200 do you guys have any experiance with these? The tent it 0.5x0.9x1.6 with a 250watt hps and mh bulbs and ballast. Just want to make sure before I spend the money . Cheers
