Anyone growing high CBD strains?

This is a re-post of information someone else posted way back when. Might be some info in there...


  1. Research the various strains The CBD Crew, Scott Blakey (AKA Shantibaba) and Jamie from resin seeds have been working on. They have roughly equal proportions, roughly 50/50 THC and CBD. You can find one of the strains, Z7, on the Mr. Nice Seeds auction right now.

    Also research Project CBD, another group working to create high CBD strains. They are working in conjunction with The CBD Crew. The following link will take you to a page with a list of high CBD strains they have been involved with or know about so far.

I visited my my local dispensary and my condition was pretty obvious so they gave me some of their super special Z7 which just finished from seed (9.5% THC, 11.5% CBD!!!)
Ive already tried begging them for a cut of it, but apparently they have an explicit agreement with Jorge Cervantes who gave them the seeds (with Shantibaba) to not share the strain - which I think is hokum. Does that sound like Cervantes to yall?
I just woke up stone cold sober so I am ready for an empirical test of the Z7

And btw everybody I have the latest copy of O'SHaughnessy's (the medical cannabis journal) and they list all the verified CBD strains to date, so a name is easy to find, a clone is not lol.

Mac-420: the coolest news ive heard is the R-4, coming in at 14% CBD and like 5% THC out of Colorado lol.

Thanks again everybody on this thread, youve all helped a lot, even just talking with other people helps a ton.

But the Z7 that i just tested out is super nice, very medical. pretty fast and almost too much at onset, very cerebral, appearance/smell/taste nothing to write home about, very good, but nothing special. nice good and medical, suits my needs and its very zen after a while and the cbd "glow?" lasts a long time, 6 hr.
