Can't figure out how these work.

if i pull the nylon string out, and tighten the butterfly clamp, it just shoots back in.

This normal, anyone hang with these?

well I just bought the same ones. If your light is heavy enuff they wwork great but if you got a light weight light the spring may be to strong for it. Tightening the bolt only stops the line from coming out, not going back in.

I had the same problem. But one worked and one didn't - so I bought another set and neither of them worked.

Very frustrating but good to know I'm not the only one.

I finally bought lightweight chain with hooks on the end....meant for hanging planters...I just took it apart.

works great!

No disrespect to anyone who has posted or bought these products BUT it seems to me that you did the best thing by just buying the chain and hooks. These gimmicks that they have for sale are a joke half the time.

Not because they don't work( alot of the time these expensive hydro products do work) but more because they are selling a product that attempts to solve an invented problem. Chains and hooks= tried and true wonderfully solution to hanging lights. Fancy hangers= iffy product designed to solve a non existant problem.

Ya but for 10 bucks on ebay they are worth it, if you have a heavy hood they work great, or you can use a clamp to stop the line from going back in if your spring is to strong, or just takem apart like dude said.
