Has anyone ever heard of or tried this thing called the "Bonkey"?

In parts of Spain and France kids don't even carry pieces around, they just stab a thing like this into a bottle and hit it like that.
It seems cool because you could carry that thing around on a keychain or necklace. Easier than sneaking around a huge ass pipe.
What do you guys think? Worth it?
