Anyone here been caught, but didnt go to Jail?

no..that is not much weight... a decent attorney could ...a.. if your friend was dumb and consented to a search of trunk/vehicle he is a moron and could get probation or drug testing/community service..if he was smart he would not have consented to a search and there is no probable cause to search a trunk.
 
I was caught about 3 times smokin back in my younger days and not a single time did they do anything other then make us stomp the shit out of it.
 
nobody is talking about smoking, the original poster was talking about getting popped off with some weight, at least that is how i read it

This is a standard technique the police use to throw you off balance and get you to say something you shouldn't, like "WTf?? That's only an 1/8th. I weighed it when I bought it!"

Cops are not rocket scientists but they are experienced professionals. It's a mistake to underestimate them.

it was federal. they could have taken him a lot longer. it's actually a much longer story, involving interstate transportation of marijuana and coke, conspiracy, etc, etc. this was all on him. when i read the whole police report, including over a month of phone taps, i was surprised. my bud was thinking of going big time. he never knew when to mello out. the phone tap didn't have me saying anything odd. i did very little over the phone, not even code words. MR GREEN IS IN TOWN! wink wink! lol

i was always super careful. to the point of annoying the shit out of everybody who had to jump through my hoops or fuck off.

they had nothing on me as i never dealt with the guy and would always leave the room when he came over. he gave me an odd feeling when we first met, turns out it was the right feeling.

The way i understood it, was he was asking if anyone been caught by the cops and escaped uncharged. He didnt really specify with weight or not, sorry.

i got real lucky, my court appointed lawyer is also one of the best lawyers in town who knows the judge and prosecutor quite well. but my parents know people that work at the courthouse including the one that appointed lawyers at the time. not bad at all for being court appointed. although one thing is real fucked and i wonder if it could have got me off, the cops that busted me did something very stupid, they used a minor to set me up. she was 17 years old, normally ppl frown upon this but i was 19 only at the time. 2 year age difference isnt much. wish i would have known to bring that up when i talked to that asshole in charge of the bust. otherwise there was no way out, the police report was dead accurate. i had no choice but to plead guilty. no way at all i could have won, way too much evidence with a recording and cops having me on surveillance.

I doubt a jury of my peers would find someone who is growing for medical reasons guilty. A little known fact that you as a juror can find someone not guilty if you feel the law is unjust.

yeah i bet the police need parental consent to even talk to a juvenile let alone flip one and have them wired up for sound to commit a crime, but i doubt that would effect your case..just embarass the department and change their policy ..maybe even a civil judgement for the girls parents

no doubt you are better off with a jury trial..like ya said all it takes is one.. unless your attorney insists he n the judge are cool and then you go bench trial

I was actually talking about, if anyone has been caught growing but didnt go to jail or just paid a small fine.

Or live in Canada. From my understanding, most of the growers they bother to charge either have small arsenals in their basements, are known gang members, or very obviously growing for profit. Someone like me, who grows for personal and a friend, has very little chance of ever seeing prison time, though I'm willing to bet they could still confinscate your house and such.

From experience while living in a VERY rural area, I have been searched, and found with 2 ounces on me. The RCMP officer asked for half of it, and left me alone. Nuff said there. ;)

While living in a much bigger city back east, I got stopped by the OPP (sort of an Ontario State Trooper) while smoking a joint outside my workplace. He asked me to put it out, and then left. He drove by about 5 minutes later to make sure I hadn't relit it, and I didn't see another cop for the rest of the night.

For how controlling the government can be here, and given the general rep of the RCMP, I'm really suprised at what you can get away with here.
 
i got busted in march this year. i went to the pub and got drunk then decided in my wisdom to drive home, took out 30 foot of wall on the way, the cops turned up and during the saerch the found i had a pocket full of valium, this gave them the right to search my house where they found 8 baby plants around maybe 12" tall. i was done for drunk driving, dangerous driving, 2 counts of possession, trying to swallow evidence, attempting to pervert the course of justice and cultivation. of the original 7 charges 4 were dropped on condition i plead guilty to drunk driving, possession and cultivation. 18 month driving ban, years probation and 150 hours community service. can't complain really.
 
yeah i know, the fuckin really sad thing is that it would have been quicker to walk home than drive because of the road lay-out, the pub is only a 2 min walk from my house...but i was smashed so i didnt fancy the walk i guess, cant actually recall getting in the bloody car!
 
nah, the only took the stuff i had in my own home, i had a much larger grow elsewhere, i cropped that and i stayed quiet for the last 6 months but i started again last week. just a small grow, 4 in dwc and 3 in soil( i wasnt expectin all the seeds to pop but they did!) and its in a friends house. just a case of being careful this time.
