Anyone like wick systems?

So, since overwatering may be an issue with my modified wick / flood drain system, I'm thinking about pulling the wicks and just going flood and drain.

Anybody have opinions on wick systems? I liked the idea of a no hassle watering schedule since I go out of town from time to time, but don't like the potential consequences of overwatering.

Opinions?... Ideas?

IMO go with ebb and flow , less salt build up
