Anyone make topicals?

So I'm thinking of turning some bud into cream for my mother. She was hurt years ago and tried cbd which helps but she would rather rub the CBD oil on her back instead of orally (no dirty jokes please XD)

Have any of you made cannabis topicals before? Also I'm guessing I'd would need a strain with higher levels of CBD? Guessing high THC bud wouldn't give the same results?

Well what are looking to make? You can just infuse something like coconut oilo or you can add beeswax and make a salve. You can add vitamin E, other ingredients, scents, etc...

I understand how to make it... I'm asking if high THC bud would work for a pain relief topical or would I have to grow a higher CBD content plant
 
If you google "making cannabis topicals" you'll find tons of instructions and recipes for making salves, lotions, etc...

I'm going to give the roots a try! From what I've been reading CBD is definitely the choice. Was hoping someone had a success story using THC buds:p I have tons of that..

Honestly I think I'd want to grow it instead of buying. I would be interested in growing one and making different medicines.. faster to just buy it though :p
 
You can just use straight infused coconut oil as a topical. I'd also consider adding a few drops of different essential oils that have pain relieving/anti-inflammation qualities like peppermint, wintergreen, clary sage, etc. for a more synergistic effect.

That was the plan! Was going to add some aloe Vera as well

Got the peppermint and clary sage as you said! I'm not sure how to know how much coconut oil to use with the 980mg isolate. I'm going to go with a cup with a couple drops of each and see the effects. Best way to learn is trial and error.
