I have topped and trained previously, and the last run of Southern Passion was flowered under this 4vs, but I've never let the plants grow out naturally, so I'm doing that this run. All I've done is bend to keep the canopy height somewhat uniform.
This tent is all feminized plants, and it's so much easier and straight forward. My other 3x3 is normal photos, and it took 6-8 weeks in 6" pots to get sex to show... Meanwhile my fem plants went right from starters to 6" then 5gal, in 2 weeks less time.
I was using some cheapo amazon risers, but I found my soil to drain out to quickly, so I removed them. I actually like having the water standing at the bottom of the tray. It allows me to bottom feed (which is great to inspire root expansion, and it seems to keep the soil damper longer, so I can go further between feedings. Check out Eastcoasterdam's risers, I think it's called Clean Roots, they are 10x more sturdy than what you can get on amazon. That said... I stopped using them!
I may end up regretting not topping... but I have 4 plants in 5gallon pots in a 3'x3' tent... so bushy isn't great. Hopefully we don't have absurd stretch. I'll be stripping the bottom 1/2 maybe 2/3rds soon as well, likely end of week 2 in flower.
