Anyone using this grow light?

Hey guys I have been thinking about buying a low cost grow light and always here about this one. The 400w HPS from HGTS for $119.95. Is anyone using this light at the moment? I'm not even sure I need 400w. 250 would be fine for me.

A 400w is a great light for small grows. Just make sure you have the light within 12 inches. If you got the money look into a digital ballast. They produce far more lumens.

I guess for a light like this and the fact that I'm doing this in a closet 4"long 2"wide and 8" high it's going to get hot in there. Would a bathroom exhuast fan work? Running when ever I use the light. Also not a very air tight closet. Thoughts??

My 400 watt light from HTG is great the ballast is seprate so you can keep that outside the grow area wich really helps with heat. My grow area is 4' x 3' x 5 ' high I run 2 fans and have no problem with heat.

I use that exact bulb, but in a different ballast & hood. I use it in a room simular to yours, not very air tight either. I use a bathroom exhaust fan I installed, exhausting into the attic. Just set the light and the fan on the same timer.
Thats actually a 430 watt, using that bulb. 55,000 lumens. You'll love it.

My dimmesions are the same as yours and I use a 70 cfm bathroom fan for exust and a fan in the floor take in outside air and my 400w from them works perfect. My room stays a constant 80 degrees with the light on or off. I use the stock bulb with no issues. The shipping is fast on lighting unit but slow on ferts.

I am going to be growing in my walk in closet... it has no door so im going to buy a Ziplock door sound funny eh mates, and i dont know where im going to have the exhaust go....so i may just have it go into my room so it will keep the heat out of there.... its winter here and at night it gets pretty chilly in there so maybe i should have the exhaust stay in there... but ill figure it out... im going to have a coco carbon filter for the smell from my pretty's i was thinking hydro but fuck it... im going to use a flood table and grow in soil medium... with chemicals to make Fat budz for 8-20 plants im going to use 1-2 600w HPS/MH conversion lamps... this should be good enough for this amount of plants...

HTG has a package with a 400 MH & HPS that run on the same ballast for like $167, i just bought it and I am in the midst of building my grow cab....now only if I can get they mylar to lay down......its all crinkly because of the vent holes.....


I am germing some seeds so I can't WAIT to get them under that 400 watt MH!!!

I didn't know this. How many more lumens are we talking here?
