I just ordered one , had a couple of cool talks with Adam , really cool dude , he says you can see the difference within 48 hrs. without a scope .
Hey man, thanks for the quick reply.

Is this the exact fixture you guys are talking about/recommending, the "SolarSystem UVB" by "California Lightworks"? And can the Arcadia Pure UV be used in the fixture when the original bulbs die out?

Anything special about the fixture as far as actually powering the bulbs (other than it's a huge benefit to have a decent reflector for this) or do you just need an equivalent wattage t5/t5ho fixture and the bulbs?
(Edit: "The SolarSystem UVB features the latest generation high output UVB T5 fluorescent bulb."...Hmm. I need to get some learning done on UV supplementing right now. Hah.)

My understanding is that a standard 2 foot bulb will fit in this unit....you are not required to use a California Lightworks bulb.

Cool. Well I can't think of a reason you couldn't use these bulbs in a standard t5ho fixture.

Just know that light has other monochromatic blues and reds along with the UV in the center. Not the light to buy if you're just wanting to simply add UV. Just get a T5HO ballast and fixture, or the ballast and some end connectors if you wanna incorporate it some other way.

you know I never asked him about using a other competitors bulb , but theirs was designed by them and supposedly the best out there ,
but for $ 100 bucks I'm not gonna sweat it ,,,

I just measured the California Lightworks uvb bulb. It’s a 22 inch bulb from end to end.

I’m running one on each side of my Blockbuster hood to cover a 5x5 tent.

Thanks for that. I've asked CLW some stuff, waiting on reply.
I use California Light Works stuff as far as the uvb goes I have only had it on for two days. One hour the first and two the second. Yes you can tell a difference in production by the naked eye, I will say kinda hard on the leaves.
That's cool man. Thank you for sharing that.
So, I guess because you're using their all-in-one fixture deal, the recommended hanging heights match up?

CLW recommends 3 feet I think. They must know that most indoor gardeners lights are gonna be under that - between the canopy and UV. So I'm not sure if there is some obvious thing I'm missing, haha.

Thanks for jumping in. How much distance do you have between the plants and the lamp?

I’m giving the plants two ten minute sessions per day to ease them into it. I’m only in week 6 of veg. No noticeable change, but no leaf damage either. I plan to gradually increase that amount in flower.

I’m running two of the California Lightworks uvb bulbs in a 5x5 space
