Anything but Mars hydro

Price, cobs are where it's at and you can change chips easily no more dead boards just change the chip back to growing.
You can replace F-Strips for pretty cheap, too. You are wasting more money on less efficient diodes, so you can easily and cheaply replace them, but I think you are missing the point that they should not have to be replaced for 8-10 years. I built my own lights and run under 500W in a 4x4.

I haven't had to change mine tho. I can attach any light I want to the cooler tho. Change the spectrum they mount up real nice. Then again I gotta par meter and I know what I'm talking about

I hope for your sake you do know what you are talking about because, if not, you will get slaughtered in the LED section for acting like you do.

I used to think COBs were the shit, too, until I went from around 580W of COB to around 480W-500W of FStrip lights. The FStrips blow away the COBs even at 100W less power. These are the lights I built.

Those look nice but I'd still give them more power I'll be updating my grow experiment frequently. 580 seems to small for wattage, I'd double it especially if it was cheap. I paid 38 bones per 100 watts.

I'm figuring out quick more watts more growth, I haven't hit the limit yet either its like they just want more. The amperage is nothing on these either they hardly pull any power.

You think I should run 1,000W of FStrips in 16 sqft? That would be absurd to do unless it was in a sealed grow room with CO2 supplementation. You do realize 480W is the standard for that chip in a 4x4, right?

I think you still have a lot to learn. There is a point where you will get where the plants cannot use the extra photons without CO2 supplementation. The reason more watts is working for you is that those cheap COBs are less efficient. For a 4x4 you need a minimum of 800W to get optimal growth.

Show me a Pic of these fstrips on the internet. I looked them up I got plenty of old lights I can attach the strips too. I just have a lot of cobs kicking around I can do the same thing with

I mean if it's cheap why not make good side lighting, I can co2 inject I haven't had to but I could. I was thinking a kerosine lamp or a co2 generator I really idgaf the funds are available. I got the sealed room and secure spot and everything

So in reality the switch to save 100 watts per 580 watts is not worth the time and investment for the power use if the cobs are growing the buds better than I've ever seen. My plants are 42 days old photo period black indica. Flowered early due to low ceiling height

can you prove that? I asked because someone got a SF light and his receipt said Mars. (see poster @ #18) I I asked that person: the answer I got was I don't know anything about that. I replied if you don't know who would? Never got an answer
I know they have the same address. Another poster showed us in another thread. Search it on here and you'll probably find it.

I found this new thread. I guess you can add Meizhi too.

Spider Farmer LEDs. Good price, great specs.
Agreed on the Spider farmers. I have to say that I like what I got from using them in
What isnt made in china anymore? That's the reality of being a post-industrial nation, I guess. We manufacture ideas now.
Sad but true. It might be obvious but I'm gonna say it anyway. If companies didn't decide to use the cheap labor and manufacturing that is available out of the USA those companies likely would have way less patent infringement issues. Fact is most companies that assemble their products in the USA are building their products from parts that were manufactured overseas. I hope the companies that do so use the money they save to provide a real wage job that comes with benefits such as heath insurance.
