Anything I'm not thinking about? Yellowing problems and stuff.

I'm guess I'm just trying to up my stuff a bit in quality. I seem to always notice that when I throw my ladies into flowering the stretch and do whatever, and then towards the end, maybe week 5-6, they start to get a lot of yellow leaves. I am just wondering if this is because of a lack of nutrients on my end, because I am feeding, or if maybe it's some kind of nutrient/salt lock or build up. I guess I usually don't flush to the ratio that some say. I do all of my work in 5 gallon buckets. I do have the option to run this floraclean that I have from GH. Is that my best option with something at week 6? I do plan and always run my flowers for 10 weeks or more usually. I also do use hard water since I have a well. Calcium or limestone buildups take two months work to start yellowing the leaves? Semi dumb easy answers appreciated to start.... I am not new but no botany major. Also it is retarded how much strains matter. So much time finding good ones.

...........all this. Well I went down to flora duo two part system a/b. It honestly was just easier to mix out for my needs and such. I do ph to around 6 each time. During flowing my ratios are pretty damn close to a 1-3-2. I add a little flouralicious plus on occasion as well. My ppm straight outta tap is around 250 or so, after my kinda weak mix it bumps up to around 600 or so. I kinda figured it wasn't too much cause I've burned that stuff before. My temps stay between 70 to 85 tops. Strains... I mean it does matter I'm sure but it doesn't seem to matter for me. Currently working with Dream star, Sour Jack, and a few others I guess. It's weird cause they look fantastic the first several weeks of flower. Just towards the end do they yellow up and fan leaves start falling. I could believe some sort of salt, calcium build up or you could convince me i'm not using enough ferts...

So few other things......Um extra from buckets drain into saucers underneath. Grow medium...big fan off this pro mix stuff. It's fert free and a nice blend of all goodness. Sometimes I add some extra top soil and perlite to beef things up a bit but it has good drainage.

Nitrogen, you wanna work with a 3-1-2, or something balanced like a 5-5-5. I switched to using a bloom food exclusively on my last grow and because of how low the N was, it took every last fan leaf I had, greatly reducing my yield.

That's seems weird because I've been reading about people who do a lot of low to zero nitrogen during flowering....... Err anyone else throw a few cents in? So let's just say I've got some type of build up being that the plants are in month 3 or so with all hard water. Anyone have a decent idea about using something like FloraKlean or whatever it's called, GH brand flusher/salt&mineral breakdown stuff at this point... end of week 5.

You don't want to overdo the nitrogen, but you do want enough to sustain the leaves. Healthy...green leaves drive bud production. As far as worrying about salt buildup, I've seen people recommend just using either distilled, r/o, and I think even rainwater was mentioned, for leaching/flushing the soil. Don't quote me on this but I think you're supposed to flush using twice the pot size...again...don't quote me on that.

I've learned that you need green foliage throughout the grow till harvest. The fact that near the end, it starts loosing and yellowing fan leaves it only means that it lacks N. And it needs N...not as much, but it must be available. Green Foliage = Good Buds..... That's +/- what Uncle Ben said...and it makes sense to me. Plus, a flush wouldn't hurt. Good Luck.

Okay, so i've read up on your issue, and like you probably noticed, it depends on alot of factors.

From what i've read and been told, during the last few weeks of flowering before harvest, You want to flush your soil completely, with distilled water, Or if you have a Water filter for tap water that works to.
( I have a jug in my fridge that has a filter built into it, to clear out the minerals leaving 99% pure H20 )
Once you flush your soil, and a very enormous portion of your nutes have been washed out, The plant will begin pulling all the nutrients it can from the soil, and if theirs not enough, it will pull it from the leaves.
Specifically Nitrogen. This does cause yellowing of the leaves, and even some to fall off.
( Why do you think during fall plants leaves turn yellow/orange/brown ? ) Because that plant is sucking as much food it can get to survive.

Now, i havent dealt with this issue personally, but i know people who have, and they're grows turned out just fine.

On the other hand, you could also have a deficiency, or an over-nute problem. There's alot of possible answers to your problem.

If it were my grow, i would flush my soil/grow medium immediately. Feed them with just plain water for a week or two, and then add in 1/2 strength nutes.
( Or, during that one week of feeding with just plain water, you can take a misting spray bottle, and fill it with 1/4th of your typical nute dosage, and foliar feed the plant to try and push some nutes back to problem areas. )

I Hope everything works out for you, and i hope what i've said was useful to you in some way.

Oh I've read all that stuff on flushing and leaching.... Yeah it's something like two or three times the size or whatever, doesn't matter. Impossible for me to go around and start flushing stuff, too many too big. I'm going with needs more magnesium sugars and such. I'll throw a few things at different ones and see if anything pops. Trial and error are ways of the quest, even years into a journey. Going to punch one with some strong mix too, maybe see if I'm just a little light on things.
