Apache AT600 led vs 1000w HPS Blue Dream Grow

Would be interesting if you had flowered plants under those CW, have you?

Maybe since CW are more efficient in lightput compared to WW, this could compensate for the lack in the red region, or could even be better.
Or instead of CW maybe NW, which still puts more light out then WW.
I know the light should be redish for flower, but maybe ++photons>= photomorphogenesis, maybe it makes them even more compact and dense and resinous ;-)
I have flowered under every Apache spectrum...All White(CW), R1, R2, Red/Blue. They are all about the same in final yield with just some differences in plant shape. Buds don't get as dense and big but it's not crazy different.

What you just said about CW being more efficient and giving more photons is a reason why AT uses CW "enhanced" with reds...It's the most efficient ay to make the spectrum. But now days WW are starting to become efficient enough that it's just easier to use them...but technically CW COBS with "enhanced" red would be even better. But these days reds need to step up their efficiency...whites are better than reds now.

Are you sure? I remember Oslon SSL reds having 48% at 350mA. Dont think any WW gets really near that.

My cxa's are over 43% efficacy at 1400ma. If I go down to between 700ma-900ma they will be around 45%-49% efficient...
The olson is doing that @350ma(0.81w)...@700ma(1.6w) it's 39%...500ma(1.15w) is the equal point ~43% efficient. And if we really want to be gnarly @350ma the CXA'a will hit ~55% efficiency...Holy shit is all I can say to that!!!
So I do think that reds are going to need to step it up sooner rather than later. It's not a killer to anything right now, and most CXA's will be just less efficient than reds...but fior the very best bins(like cxa 3K AB's)...reds can hold back the efficiency of a rig. We are talking very small differences at this point in time, but if reds don't improve soon, there will be no need anymore because the 2700k whites will be super efficient soon too.

Now just thing about how efficient CW can be if WW are this good.

I don't really feel that good about this video, but I know many have been waiting for it. I hope it gets the point across.
I'm thinking I will do a part 2...a deconstruction version that will show the wiring of it more in-depth and what ever else I missed or could do better. It's hard to document it and work at the same time. I didn't hook up the fan in the video, but it's simple too.

Sweet vid man

Are all your driver cords just spliced into one and then joined to you AC cord or are there adaptors/connectors that you can use to hook all 6 POS and 6 NEG from the drivers to the AC cord (hope that makes sense)

Well I gave the 4x8 a little make over. Fucking trays cost more than the pots. But the lumber and trellis were cheap and look pretty clean imo...

I may drop 2 dreams and just run 10 in the 4x8. But I will defiantly be dropping 2 OG's no matter what. Just too many in there.

For my 6 drivers I used 6 of THESE...2 for each wire code(hot, neutral, ground)...so it looks like this...(driver1, driver2,driver3,connection)---(connection and AC,driver4, driver5,driver6). So the hot, neutral, and ground all have a set of connections like I just tried to show???
Great video, man. I'm ready, Sensei.
You can definitely do it. It's fun and rewarding...for all ages 8+. No soldering can easily and cheaply be done.

Well ,here's my ..' opinion ' ...

All I gota say is that it brings a tear to my eye ,every time I think that actually there's still folks
which medicate with inferior quality ,shitty HPS herb ....

But hey ...

Opinions are like @$$holes ....
Everybody's got one and furthermore ....

We should not 'gas 'em out ' in public ...

Or at least try to keep the fart for ourselves...

Cheers!

NOW YOUR BASHING AN AWESOME LED GROW!
What's your issue m8?
Brings a tear to my eye knowing YOU are allowed to remain a member of riu!
Just so these people know you bashed on my cfl grows, other cfl grows, led growers and now I see you here. This same dude said he harvested over 2.5pounds from an autoflower!...Please show us that 6 or 7 oz autoflower you showed me.Just saying first time you said 12/12 from seed auto that yielded 6oz?..next time I saw you it was a 7oz auto?....Lol...I bet your eyes are brown!

Hi GG, awesome grows, much respect! Thank you for all your posts on LED's and Apache, I've found them very helpful. I remember reading that you had tried all of the various spectrums Apache offers for flowering, and I was wondering which spectrum you think was the best overall for flowering, if I'm looking for yield, potency, and density?

I was talking to some of the guys over at MonsterGardens, and they were saying that they have done extensive testing on both the AT600 and the Lumigrow 650, and were claiming that the Lumigrow had higher overall readings, and better penetration due to using 5w chips instead of 3w. However the tests I have seen from Growers House, and your info, generally refute that and say that AT600 has a more even coverage and average par in a 4x4, particularly at a height of 30-36" above the canopy. In terms of yield, light, penetration, etc, how do you think they compare? I do like some of the features of the Lumigrow, such as the ability to tune the spectrum, the all-white switch for working, the lighter weight, lower price, etc. But ultimately I want to get the best LED's to grow the best medicine possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You know it brings tears to my eyes.... from hysterical laughter when some jank ass noob know nothing grower bashes on others grows especially growers who are much more knowledgeable. But I guess that's why you have a bunch of bullshit threads created.People like you make me wish I could reach through a computer and slap someone. LOL

Looking good gg. Want to see how the Diy does. Looks like good spread.

I was just in MG yesterday and they said someone asked about this but they said they didn't really know the answer. I guess you were the guy asking in there.
The only reason they even know what the AT can do is because one day they were chatting up the LG so much I brought my own AT into the shop and showed them...they were speechless and I also saw them testing the LG. I didn't get to peak the LG spec because they were keeping it a secret...go figure. So interesting they are claiming that now...I will set them straight the next time I am in there.
Unless they give you the actual par footprint readings to prove that it's Bullshit...lumigro = hydrofarm = monstergardens main $$$ source.
I know they didn't get the par footprint of the AT because I was the only reason they got to test the AT and they/we didn't have time to do the footprint. All they got off the AT was the spectrum...read from the center only. Not very much info considering the claims they just made.
I stand by this too...I will call out MG no problem. Because that is just an uneducated/misinformed/lying information unfortunately.
I would love for them to show some actual proof of this.
Just for starters they fact that people think apache uses 3w is funny...even oneshot has said it recently...BUT THEY USE 5W'ers....nichia 219b...1500ma@3.3v=4.95w.

For apache the White3:Red2...also known as the R2 spectrum is the best for flowering...despite what they will ever say... cannabis was the plant the R2 was designed for...all their big normal greenhouse clients use the R1 for their food crops. But cannabis is the R2 all the way.
I have offered to let MG use one of my at120R2's as a display instead of the R/B they have in the shop. I think I will have to educate them on LED's for real...no more nice guy...listen to facts and stop selling bullshit.

If they or anyone can show actual hard fact results of why and how LG is better than AT then I will gladly retract and correct my statement. But as far as the information I saw quickly for the LG and the stuff I know better than anyone about AT's, says differently.

EDIT:
COme to think of it...they were testing the LG when I go there...then had to change the scope of the spectrum graph to get the AT's curve in it because it was so much more intense than the LG. I trust MG for most stuff...but this is sounding fishy as fuck.

I had someone suggest to me recently to switch to LED's for our commercial crop. It drove me crazy, but then again last time I checked in on LED's was when the UFO's first started coming out. To me, LED's are just for hobbyist growers, but supposedly WA and CO growers are storming this one LED manufacturer that my associate spoke to. What's the deal with all that? I still don't view it as even close to commercially viable, but I would absolutely love to experiment with them nonetheless.
