apartment question

So I moved into a new apartment today and on my lease it says maintenance enters your pad every month for filter change. So does this mean'm I can't grow? I can't switch out door knobs they made that clear but what could I do I only wanna grow two autos for personal use.

Hi and Welcome to RIU,

Nobody can tell you whether to grow or not. You should not put your security on us. Assess the situation and if you think you might be ok then give it a shot (you can always grow small things that shouldnt be found unless somebody is looking for it) you can grow in a box or a closet. if you are too afraid and do think its taking too many risks then you should definately wait until you can grow. Better be safe. I live in apartment, it sucks...

Get a small tent keep it in the walk in closet (I know you have one. Or find out where the filter is. Dont use that room. Keep your door to the room you're growing in locked with your own lock. Since it will be unrelated to where they switch the filters (sounds like bs). Run a filter to you light to get rid of smell. Use LED's and make an ONA bucket to cover the rest of the smell. I jjst made one and it's phenomenal.

thanks. And I was thinking of buying a stealth box from eBay but they don't have carbon filtered in them.

IF its just the janitor coming in what makes you scared, there are ways of getting rid of smell as an emergency. I dont think he is going to come inspecting everything. ALSO, it might really help if you are fucking nice to the person that has to come to your apt. If that person trusts you then you should be ok.

You already sound like a lazy ass that shouldnt grow buy a stealth box wow u can make one with a 250 hps for under 150 u shouldnt start growin yet

Right on. I just thought if I put a tent in my closet and he hears the fan he will go and investigate. That's mainly my concern I was going to get a 4x4 but I think I'll stick with my 3x3 I just need a filter and fan. I just grow with a 400 watter.

whoa bro easy. I've been growing for awhile but I moved cause of my job and couldn't find a house so I had to settle for an apartment. No reason to be rude or anything. And I can't exactly go in construction in a 1 bed room. Yeah that wouldn't look weird at all. Damn have a joint and chill man.

Get some sound proof foam, works got if you got thin walls. They gotta give you 24h/48h notice when they enter ie assume. Maybe run a few flouros if you think they coming in and turn off the bally, and turn down the fan. you should think long and hard about growing in a rented space. wiegh pros/cons, what kind of people run that place ect. best yet just change the filter yourself if you can. last place i was at wanted to change out with cheap ones anyway, i opt for the better filtered ones they were cool. :bigjoint:

me, I wouldn't worry about it. Your business is your business. You could have a grow tent in the middle of your bedroom. If they saw and asked what is was, or more specifically what was in it. It doesn't fucking matter. It's none of their business. You really don't have to explain it any further than that. It could be vegetables, it could be marijuana, it could be a meth lab. that's for them to speculate, and for you to not give a fuck.

Of course in the effort of avoiding an unnecessary situation like that, keep something locked with your own lock like someone else mentioned. How many units in your bulding? I doubt maintenance changes some filter every month in every unit...? really.

I'd be checking the lease to see if it says that all illegal activities are prohibited. If it is illegal, and you give rights to your landlord to come in once per month, that could easily spell disaster.

I wouldn't risk it personally.
