Don't do anything Pay someone to do it for you if you have to ask this question.
Breakers (switches) controling individule circuits. Also, house wiring is not a good correspondence course. So I do not wish to say very much, except much of the BS I have seen here the last couple of days will kill someone. AC is not an amature sport. If you insist on doing some wiring solo, then start by reading a how-to book. There are several decent books at the big-box stores.okay so when i open up my breaker box....and i see those black switches...what are those?
breakers or circuits? or both?
Allow me to be clear. LISTEN FUCKEN NUMNUTS, I CHASE SPARKS FOR A LIVING AND YOUR SHIT WILL KILL SOMEONE. A real electrician has now spoken.I do think you can change out the circuit breaker from a fifteen to a twenty as long as the can fit the same spot in the board, they pop on and out from where the plug in. Your wiring should be all set as long as it a descent 120v wiring. If you were trying to run a 220v breaker you would want to update the wiring to something with a bigger gage. You should be all set to do this, but first talk to an actual electrician.
