poor poor babies!! I feel your pain... As you said it yourself, it's preferred to treat your plants when they're still in vegetative growth. If you wanna go all natural, you should do as sunshine said.. go out and catch some lady bugs. It may be overambitious but thats the best natural way to go. Otherwise use a less chemical spray (something more organic) and instead of starting of by spraying the whole plant - Put a lil in a plate and put on some gloves and touch all the leaves on your plant to kill the bugs (if u know what I mean). Then spray a little because the aphids could also be on the stem.
That's what I would have done..

I don't know and someone correct me if I'm wrong..but I'd rather do a very thorough job once, maybe twice in your circumstances (early flowering stage) rather than frequently fighting the bugs until you are few weeks away from harvest.. I heard the buds will not taste as good as they should.

At the end of the day if it's aphids or thrips it's ok.. Your plant can take it and it's nothing to be so worried about. They suck out a lil life of your plant and it will not harm your plant as much as you think. It's said that you should do something about it from time to time, so maybe once could be enough..

If there are other bugs than aphids you should take a good photo or give a good description so someone with more expertise than me could help you out. Good luck !! : )
