ok so I cut and trimmed two branches of amnesia 5 days ago and has been hang drying in a dark room with temps around 73-77 and RH 50-64 and the thicker stems cracked but not snapped completely today so threw them in the cure jar with a hygrometer and its reading 60 RH after about 5/6 hours. My question is should I burping at this RH? If so how often? I was thinking mayb once for twenty mins every 4 to five days or once a week, I don't think the chances of mold are high at that RH but I just want to make sure

give it time to equalize the RH, it will go up. i burp once a day, try to keep RH in the 60's as long as I can, thats the cure zone.

this is a good news bad news update
so it's been terribly hot here recently and doesn't look like its going to change (my set up is In a non insulated/cooled/heated barn/ which makes it very difficult from the start to get the right environment) and where my tent is its been getting past 100f inside the tent its been 73-91f well the good news is I got that problem fixed today but took some drastic measures and by that I mean I cut a huge ass hole in my tent and placed my ac right in that bitch sealed it up problem solved temps are now looking like they are from 65-78 so that's the good news
the bad news is my newbness is really showing with this mag deficiency i haven't been able to tackle, I'm more disappointed in myself than frustrated for failing to get on this but it shouldn't be too late yet, I'm gonna try a straight espom salt water tomorrow and hope that helps the reason I say hope is because I've been adding calmag every water and it doesn't seem to be helping if anything I might be making it worse. I just checked my soils ph and its 6.6 so that shouldn't be the issue, mayb I have too much calcium or salt build up mayb there is chlorine my water that I don't know about what ever it is its helping me learn

took two tablespoons off the top layer and wedged my fingers down the side of pot about half way and grabbed two tablespoons from there then mixed together and added 3 tablespoons of water with a ph of 7 mixed thoroughly put my digital tester in the solution and left if for about 5 mins then mixed again and read my results

I've seen on here numerous times checking run off ph is the wrong way to do it but there's so many personal preferences I really don't know what's the right way

but if I suspect salt buildup, and i put in water at 6.5, and check the runoff, if its much different than what it went in at, I figure theres something there, and i do a flush.

I don't like the idea of flushing prolly because I have never done it but if it helps it helps. I'll try that method next watering but I feed every watering, should I just do straight water when checking run off?

Try some silica it will help with the high temps.

I use that, I can tell the difference in stem and stalk strength.
I see a flush as a do over, a restart, a chance to regain control of your plants nute needs.

I like the way you think, I think ill give it a go. Should I do the usual 2x the amount of water to what your planter size is (so 10gal water for a 5gal planter) and then add a good balanced nute ratio for the last half gallon or so when the soil is on the dry side?
