For shits and giggles I am trying to root and grow in an aquarium with cfl's, in addition to my other set ups.

Only day 3 so 4 to 11 days still for rooting results

air stone + circulation pump

Stay tuned!

This ought to be fun!!!:blsmoke:

As soon as I see decent roots I will be using about 5 5600 K - 27 watt cfl's along with about 4 or 5 - 2700 k - 27 watt cfls right to flower!

you should have the bottoms out of the water and have the water bubbling up splashing the roots as in the water right now will cause very slow roots or even rot.Buy a 4 dollar rubbermaid tub and a big air pump

Ive seen an aquarium grow with the plants floating on styriphoam with submerged roots aired by bubbles that were extreamly healthy!

again this is for fun and they are not rooted yet!

where did you see this styrafoam grow at? ( on the internet? )

If you did happen to see this on the internet, do you have a link?

Peace

You can do it its just very slow.My clones root in a damp rockwool cube in 3 days all the way through the cubes. Also in the clear tank you should cover the sides as light on roots is a bad thing and light kills roots should be in dark..

Foam floats are a way some people root clones but again its a slow process and takes practice to make work. You can buy premade float trays or make your own but its not a great way by any means

I will be searching for the grow with pics but the grow I saw the roots didn't mind the light 1 bit, big and healthy. Light causes mold thats what you have to watch out for!

good grow... ive seen it done on t.v. companies use this method for veggies n ish. i think they did like lettuce or sumthin. but they didnt take very long. if anything it was quicker.
