I cloned my ladies before I switched them over to flower. They are 10 days along. Zero roots showing. They are sitting on a heat mat. under 2, 26w cfl's. 24 hour light cycle. I open them approx 4-5 times a day for fresh air and I have been misting the dome. Do they look like they are still on track??? Thanks.

I keep my lights right against the dome. I do not use a heating mat either. Did you use gel or any cloning solution? I use clonex gel and rooting solution and I almost never lose a clone. You want the clones to be tight in the growing medium also. Ive had some batches take 14 days before they root.

Whoa! we posted at the exact same time!

Yes, sorry forgot to add that I did use clonex gel. I tried the no mat with lights right on the dome, but it seemed like they drooped more that way.

Maybe that's a good thing? It probably is a bit hot inside the dome.

I removed the heat mat and put the lights right on top of the dome. They look like they're drooping more....??????

keep the lights AWAY, i am not an expert but from what i have read and researched the clones need VERY LITTLE light. i currently have 2 26w cfls about 18inches from the top of my dome, the plants 3 inches under that. what are your temps and humidity levels? i used to not have a meter, i got one for 10dollars at walmart. 2 in 1 digital. i keep my temps at 78 (because thats where "low" on my mat keeps them.) and humidity bewteen 85% and 100%. when it is high you do not have to mist as much. the reason for keeping the lights away is we want the plants to focus energy into their roots, not leaves. it is possible for the plant to look healthy for 2weeks + without rooting if it is getting its energy from somewhere else and not the roots. whenever i have a ? usually i go to google. type in the keywords and it spits like 10 forums out at you, skim through and im sure it will tell you the same as i have, or close to it. goodluck

what medium is that?rockwool?

I would make sure you are okay to leave those cubes open like that. I'm thinking you might have to keep them covered or something? I don't know.. that is why I use rapid rooters for my clones :D

Couldn't help myself. I took 5 more clones today. Trying something different. I dipped them in clonex gel and put them directly into some FF happy frog mixed with a little perlite and FF ocean forest.

It'll be hard if they all survive!!! I'll hate to do it, but there's no way I could handle 14 plants!!! ha ha
