the two foot two skinny bulb get up in home depot are they bulb or some special bulb like we have all different florescent tubes.

I think I've seen them there, not sure.
Not fixtures, just bulbs.
You'd be surprised. They're making a name for themselves in commercial lighting, just a little behind the T8s, I think.
