are there any good grow florescent lights

I have a bunch of four foot fluorescent shop lights are there any particular brands are good to grow with I'd like to use them if I can even if its just for extra lighting

These were used by the demi gods, the growers in the 1970's to grow indoors, many still do, as they do put out a cheap functional light and very cool too, and 4 feet is a great length to fit in a closet or tent too, most are at about 40 watts and 3050 lumen, thats better than your bedroom cfl,
hang 6 - 8 on a rack, ensure you have a mix of cool white and warm white, adjust the chains daily, fantastic germ and early vegging light, but does require extract grunt come budding, or suffer popcorn buds. ..avoid tubes with gray or blacked ends are these are about to die on you

IN the 80's we would steal street lights and the construction lights ran by generators lol....1000w baby!

The area I will be building in is a 8ft long 3.5ft wide 9ft high walk in closet I will be using CFLs. As well as getting some MH & HPS I'll have at least 3 fans running just to keep it cool I'm not worried about smell because its what my house smells like anyways lol. I'd like to set up a vertical grow I'll have a total of 6 plants I have other rooms for veg and clones I might mix it up and do a few hydro and a few soil just to see what I like better

Benefit is I have a friend who owns a aquarium wholesale store locally and he is selling me used MH & HPS sets for way under price cuz they are extras he has no use for

Well i guess I'm gonna need some new bulbs then huh??

these look like the gruntless 2 foot long lengths ...? but yeah black ends don't help, its always good to replace the tubes you need the canna for every 1-2 years

Cool, thanx for the help vostok. Gonna try to use these alongside some leds, but definatley gonna get some new bulbs in there.

Blackened ends will cut the output by half.
