Are there strains better for outdoors?

Diseases is not your problem when selecting seeds for outdoors. The biggest problem is finishing them before the cold sets in.

Early Misty from Nirvana's Seeds is insanely strong for being a quick finisher......and it finishes before the end of September.......

So what makes an outdoor strain a good outdoor strain or is there such a thing? IF there is such a thing, let me know. I want to grow it. What is a plant that can take some abuse?
