Are these fast strains getting really popular in commercial grows(and lied about)?

I keep reading on these forums about people popping bag seeds and getting autoflowers from them, quite often plants out of which only some autoflower and some not.

The thing is that autoflowers are not very good for commercial grows, also if the seeds were always from pure autos, the seeds also would be all autos.

If the seeds were a mix where a photo is accidentally pollinated by auto, or other way around. Very very rare if any of these seeds would be autoflowering.

However because these so called fast strains are already a mix between autoflower and photo, if you were to self it, out of those S1 seeds, theoretically to my understanding, there should be relatively good % of autoflowers, maybe like 1/4th to half.

Because its so easy to lie about what strain you are growing and selling and if these fast strains can make higher crops in the same time. Could it be that some if not many commercial growers are growing these fast strains and selling the weed as regular photo weed that is really a different strain?

I mean i have heard that it is common for growers to lie about the strain when selling their crops. So if someone is growing some fast version of GSC and can crop more than with gelato, but regular gelato is more valuable than some fast flowering strains and sells easier to dispensaries for higher price, well i could see someone doing that.


But the question is that can these fast strains actually be good enough quality and crop fast enough to make bigger yields in same time than photos?

I've run a few fast crosses nothing exciting about them. They both didn't flower in the time frame stated maybe you need the right pheno

u carnt clone autos so commercially they dont really make much sense.

Pretty sure that's how they make the fast strains is putting some auto in it

Avoid Auto Flower weed or anything with Ruderalis traits (Russian Trait that allows plants to flower under more than 12 hrs of light).

Thank me later. I've grown a half dozen autoflower strains usually 6 plants per run and from ILGM, GC and a few other local seed bank sources in Michigan they've all been a waste of nutrients and time.

There are way too many good strains that flower fast and harvest fast that are standard photoperiod plants that produce way better quality results.

Strains I personally recommend for fast growth:
Gorilla Breath
Gold Leaf (ilovegrowingmarijuana)

Honestly by far the Gold Leaf strain from ILGM (ilovegrowingmarijuana) ~not affiliated is the fastest and most consistent photoperiod plant I've grown even the clones are fast to root and pretty much take anything thrown at them. Especially when starting out in an organic mix like Michigan Made Mix or commonly known as "M3" or similar.. I always start my plants out in organic mediums using root riots. I try to keep it real. I noticed hydroponic results are usually never as good as keeping it natural as possible.

Mind you I'm not opposed to using inorganic nutrients like Advanced Nutrients, Heavy 16, Cyco and a few other brands I enjoy like Alchemist and Botanicare. I'm not specific to any product line I personally have enjoyed them all and smoked bud from most all of the most common lines..

The easiest nutrients for beginners I would say would certainly be the Advanced Nutrients Coco Connoisseur A+B Grow & A+B Bloom. 10 ml per/liter of water (2 oz per/5 gallon bucket of RO) and water in. No PH needed and it just works and provides very beautiful results without any extra additives.
