yo man just so you know lst isn't really that hard if you do start to out grow your room you could do somthing as simpla as just bending the main stalk down and tying it its no biggie it doesnt have to be advanced if its just what ya gotta do to fit it in your room...biddy meng meng(eek a mouse)you remember that old skool adams familly beat (i am a freak, i think it was called)

It sounds like you're right on track but there are variables I don't know. Strain, medium, hydro or pot, feeding schedule etc. all affect the growth speed. For an indica or pure indica in pots you're a little ahead of schedule. Also, you should really consider dropping the hps or switching them for mh until 2 weeks after you switch to 12/12. The red spectrum light is useless to the plant while veging, and the yellow encourages stretch. Mh prodives more compact growth. Good luck!

i have 5 different strains going, all are indica dominant. 2 WW, 2 Ice, 1 Crystal, 3 strawberry cough, 3 Bubblegum, 1 Purple kush. im growing in dirt. i dont understand how by adding the extra HPS watts its useless? some people grow only with HPS, and that wouldnt be possible if all of its light was useless in veg. i think a 50/50 MH/HPS mix is perfect for all stages of growth...

hps is fine it won't streach a plant its not the best thing to use but will have no ill effects although with all the light you got you could easily take em away and still be a rock star
oh yea and ive found that switching to hps and bloom nutes shows sex faster i exparimented both ways and that showed quicker with the same strain but you make your own decission

The hps isn't entirely useless in veg, only the red end of the light it puts out (which encourages the production of floral hormones during flower) The bigger problem is stretch from the yellow. Every inch of stalk with no leaves or nodes is an inch with no flowers. Using mh along with them helps, but still... Also, no way a 24" plant will grow to 5-6' during flower. Allow about 8-10" for elongation but the plants will take up about twice as much floor space. That said, it really sounds like you're doing the right stuff for your plants. BTW, when you say dirt, do you mean dirt from your garden or soil? (Big difference)

hey medi grower, do you think i could flower my plants when they got to 24 inches and they would stay under 4 feet? i see what your saying about the stretch now. makes sense. i hate long and lanky plants. i like to think of mary as more of a bush then a weed...

dude ive flowered 8 inch plants that ended at 6' you ever gro pot ive been in the position where ive had to veg with hps and it was one of the bushiest plants ive had in 8 yrs growing oh and by the way those 8 inch plants wernt streched they had 11 blade leaves have a nice day

Your plants are all squat indica dominant hybrids or I think they all are (strawberry cough might be 50/50, but I think its 60/40 or thereabouts) so they should stay under 4' if you flower at 2'. I grow HP13 (mostly indica) and Mine gain about 5-7" height at 3' through elongation. After the second week is when I add the hps lights and keep the mh to get more compact flowers, (Tried it both ways, mh alone is smaller flowers, hps alone is looser flower clusters.) When you ask us if this is the right size a major factor that comes into this is that the strain could be short if it is Indica or Sativa if it is tall.
