A friend, new indoor grower had his 1st harvest a few months ago. Gave him some clones from the strain I was running (they were 18" high when he got them), and he put em right into 12/12 under the 1000.
8 weeks later he asked me if he should harvest based on how many weeks they'd been flowering (no ones is allowed in his grow area, so I cant see them). After I explained how a plant should look when done, he started in with the microscope stuff, and said the trichomes were 50 clear, 50 cloudy...Told him to chuck the microscope and dont pick it early. He didn't listen.
We'll after harvest and a short cure I got a chance to smoke some of the bud. I'll tell you that son of a bitch grew some damn good weed, 1st time. It was just as firm, tasted great, smoked clean, smelled great, probably just as good as mine. The only visible differences between our product was the hair color, and my buds looked a little darker. However, he wanted to trade me a bunch of his for mine because his was too "racy"(his words) ; or immature. Moral of the story, listen to the growing vets here. They've all ready done it all, screwed up grows and share those mistakes so new growers dont make them.
As for the original topic, I trust you made the right choice in when to Harvest Buck, you dont like racy weed, so my vote is Mature.
