Are these temperatures acceptable for drying?

OK, so I just chopped this girl yesterday.. she was grown outdoors. I want to slow dry, so I am leaving the whole plant intact along with its roots.

Last night, I brought her inside and set it up to start drying in our basement. It has very strong skunk odor. I did all I could to contain the smell, but by the time I woke up it stunk up the whole house. Tired of all the complaints from other occupants, I had to re-locate the dry location to our outdoor shed. Right now, its hung upside down inside the shed.

I was able to create good ventilation. There is good fresh air circulation. There is some light leaking inside, but not strong enough (I think) for the plant to produce chlorophyll.

Looking at our forecast for the next 5 days, I just need some advice on what to watch out for. Are these temperatures putting me at risk for bud rot, or mold? If these conditions are not at all ideal/unacceptable, I will have to think of another drying location. I understand lower temperatures means prolonged drying period - which I have no problem with. Is there anything I should be worried about? Notice that the swing in high and low temps is not much - I am assuming that's a good thing.. ?

You would have been better off removing all the branches seperately and trim, with the main stem and roots still on it will take too long. it will also make it harder to trim after it's dry.

I dont see any chop marks lol that is going to take a long time to dry :wall:
haha. good point. I used the word "chopped" loosely to indicate its been unearthed from the soil. My plan was to let it slow-dry atleast until most of the fan leaves dry out. At which point I would start trimming and let it dry more.. hopefully quicker. I am also trying to let some of the odor decrease so I can bring it back into my basement and let it dry in a more controlled environment.

I have all the time in the world. This is more of an experiment to see if I can get away with this method of drying, regardless of how long it will take. I plan on giving most of this grow away to friends anyway.. not really a big personal loss if it won't work..

I guess what I am trying to figure out is, with low temps (in 40's) and high humidity (in 80's), what could possibly go wrong? From what I understand mold and bud rot happen at higher temps..

At 85% RH I think your better off removing as much plant matter as possible and trimming the sugar leaves off. Better than getting mould

Seems like a lot of wasted time and possibly money, but it's your grow, good luck my friend.
