Are they the same?

So I've been looking into getting a new 1000watt bulb and I've noticed I can get them from $25 to $125. But they all have around if not the same lumens listed in spec. So what is the diffrence between these bulbs? Do I need a $125 one or will the $60 one work just as well? Thanks for any input.

They'll work just as well dude the more expensive ones tend to be fractionally better but if everything is dialed in it won't make much of a difference.

That's what I was thinking if they put out the same lumens they should work just as well. The only difference I think there mite be are the components of the light itself mite be cheaper causing it to have a shorter lifespan. But we only use them for a year anyways. I was wanting other opinions before I bought one. My thoughts are pure speculation. So I would like to hear accounts from people that have used the expensive and non expensive, and wich they chose to stick with and why.

The difference in spectral spread is not worth paying for a big "name" bulb results wise.
I buy Plantmax by the case from 1000bulbs .com and at that price I can change at my whim.

I have been looking at giving the dual arc's a shot and again the plantmax over the EYE Hort. for 1/3 the price.

"Eye Hortilux Enhanced 1000 watt HPS came out the undisputed winner in this test being almost 10% better than the next best bulb. The Ushio and Digixlux, came in next very close to each other, and about another 10% above the rest of the pack. The next five bulbs were similar in readings, yet the Maxlume bulb is quite a bit less expensive than all of them, leading us to conclude that it's the best value bulb"

The difference is usually in quality and spectrum. Some HPS bulbs contain up to 30% blue and MH 30% red. I can't vouch for any differences in other bulbs as I've been running the same setup since the beginning.

I use an Apollo ballast (either love them or hate them from what I understand) with Yield Labs bulbs. They're about $40 on Amazon. I can't complain.

I don't know if this helps any, but a $40 bulb hasn't hurt any of my grows.

No they are not the same. Yes the cheap bulbs work just fine. Some bulbs have more blue then the others but it shouldn't be too far off. If you are not growing commercial or new to growing then just buy the cheap bulb.

I bought many from this company . in my opinion one of the best I have used all my friends use these every body that does it for fun or commercial uses these . best par out put can no longer go by lumens on bulbs it does not tell the truth . par is what the plant sees lumens is what you see .
