Hi everyone ;)
I am thinking about building my first grow box.
It will be rather small because I just want to grow one plant from time to time. I am thinking about something like 0,16-0,20m^2
Now I think what lighting should I use. I have read a lot of topics where people recommeds CREE COB lights.
If it will be possible I want to make purchase on http://www.gearbest.com because I have some $ in my wallet on this site.
I found this COB lights:
http://www.gearbest.com/diy-parts-and-tools/pp_180258.html
or
http://www.gearbest.com/diy-parts-and-tools/pp_180256.html
Are they worth buying? They are a lot cheaper so I wonder if they are sufficient for DIY grow light.
I am sure that CREE would be better but considering my needs will COB lights from this link would be enough for me?

I think they would be sufficient because 0,2m^2 is really small (like 2 square foot)
They're far from being the most efficient but with such a small space you won't notice much in your electricity bill.

On a sidenote, a cheaper quality alternative for Cree would be the Vero series from Bridgelux which are quite a bit cheaper but still offer great efficiency.

Cutter also has a great deal going on cxb-2530 for $10 each but shipping will be pricey. If you decide to go with cheaper leds it would be wise to make sure your drivers are compatible with the crees and veros for future upgrades.

I have a few cxb2530s from cutter :)
Paid 8.51 EUR, they are the 3000k 93cri version.
Allready used 1 tot make a light for a friend.
Powered by a meanwell lpc-60-1400
Used arctic glue and a old serverheatsink.
Still need to solder the wires ..the cob is really
tiny, compared to a 3590.

Will be used in a mammoth 40x40x120 tent. 1 plant in a 35 liter container.
Start end march, early april. Outside air is too cold now.

Cob ..….........................8.50
Heatsink and fan.........4.00
MW lpc-60_1400.......17.00
15w 12v psu................3.00
Alu profile....................1.00
Arctic 2k glue..aprox...0.50
----------------------------
Here you go.
A budget 50w led lamp for a 0.16 m2 tent.
for 34 euro in parts.( Ex. Shipping)

Better is a cxb3070 with above config. Will cost 54 instead of 34 euro.
Gives more lumen @1.4A compared to a cxb2530.

But Best is i think 4x cxb2530 at 350 ma for a 0.16 m2 tent.
Also 50w, but better spread and no 12v fans needed.

So maybe if COB's from gearbest would be sufficient there is no need for me to buy better ones. I have to think about it.
Thanks for info. I will consider also the Vero series if you recommend.

Great tip with buying driver compatible with better COB lights. I will take your advice ;)

This is also quite cheap option ;)
I will think about it also.

If I will go with COB's from my first post what will be the best config for 0,16m^2 box? How many and which one you will recommend to buy?

One led run on a meanwell hln-80h-42b driver would give you 70w and the ability to dim if its to bright or the plant gets to close. It would run any of the better cobs down the road as long as they are less than 42v. With 1950ma you could also run a pair at about 1000ma each if you run them in parallel.
