I think quite a few Trump supporters are indeed stupid, many of them are probably liars too when it comes to his record. But there's a very real sentiment coming from a considerable segment of the American population who feel alienated from the political process. They feel like nobody accurately represents them. Then someone like Trump comes along and voices many of their concerns, hence his popularity. I'd say it's around 40% of the country who feel like minorities, women and liberals are getting "special treatment". They think these people are being given extra rights, not equal rights.

I think this should be addressed. Why these people feel this way, what's driving it and how we can work to change it.

The world is changing. Stupid people are lashing out out of fear. Not to dismiss the change you seek, but the symptoms don't really fit the disease.

It's genetics in a lot of cases and you cannot fix it or change it.
