Are you are plant-feeder or a soil-feeder?

Title pretty much says it all.

I try to feed the soil as much as i can, and only feed the plant macro nutes (pee, rabbit pellets, molasses - soon seaweed extract as well)

Pretty much counting on my soil being alive and feeding the plant all the micro nutes it needs.

I definitely believe in having an active alive rhizosphere. Teeming with beneficial bacteria and fungi. I use several different products to obtain great results.. I also feed the plant. So I guess my answer to your two part question is yes.
