Had a w90 on my seedlings 24 hr light cycle for a about a month so far and came home this morning to find the cob not putting off any light... the fan was still working but no light :( hope its not broke already.. i sent a message to company just now. I bought 8 of these things, but only had one hooked up so far.. hope this isnt a normal thing. I switched it out with another for the time being..

I already have 2 315w CDM fixtures, the W90s would've been for my micro cab. I'd really hate to give my money to Mars Hydro, but at least they're trying to sell their lights. There aren't a lot of options for a single COB fixture besides DIY. And hearing all these "Paid weeks ago, but no product" situations makes me kind of wary about ordering.

Youd be better off buying 100+ lumens per watt led bulbs at Walmart honestly

Look at Lowes for utilitech 100 watt replacement warm white. It's 100 lm/w and you can pop off the plastic top half easily. Makes a great spot light as all the LEDs are mounted flat. I'd do that with bathroom fixtures first. Mars is junk with a capital J. I would use cfl first no kidding. Just think these bulbs I'm talking about are higher efficiency than sk 400+ lol.

If you just want 1 cob, why not do the cpu cooler thing?
If you want something trick look at the Inda-gro 100 and ask them about a mini pontoon to go on it ;)

What about apache, amare tech, or Rapid Led - I think they can all ship something of quality out right away

Can anyone chime in on the W90? Just purchased mine a week ago and i'm super stoked to get it. Has anyone used it? Logged any grows with it? Also i know it was asked but how easy would it be to replace the chip with a CXB3590? I plan to use the vero 29 V2 that's in it for a few grows but would love to upgrade it down the road. Thanks guys :)

Any reply?

I wonder what the actual cob temp is when running these this hard.

I know this is an old thread but I felt THIS needed to be addressed.

"On a related note: With Jeff, he's like the "soup nazi" on Seinfeld. You get what you get. If you're not happy with the way he conducts business, I'm pretty sure he'd be the first to suggest you buy your light from a company that gives you a better feeling. Whether that's a good or bad strategy may be debatable. But, probably not with him. He'll just tell you to buy elsewhere. (I've seen it a coupe times.).

I'd tell any business that told me that to put it where the sun doesn't shine! As a former business owner I can tell you there is 2 requirements for a successful business, 1. Customer Service 2. COURTESY! The best product in the world will fail if you don't care about the people you intend it sell to! I put a competitor out of business just based on my customer service!
I worked for Hewlett Packard as a field service tech. And the best thing I learned from that job is NEVER tell a customer, you can't, or that's not possible! Why? Because there is always a solution. If YOU don't have it, refer the customer to someone who does! Hell, I made HP do things for customers they didn't want to, that will teach them to give me the phone number of the head of Customer Satisfaction!

So why defend a jerk like this? you know his attitude is going to bite him on the ass! Buy from him if you wish, personally I'd tell him to shove it!

But then Jeff would have to staff someone at the phone during business hours. That would be an expense reflected in the price of his lights.

Don't say it could go to answering machine if Jeff & co are busy. Inevitably someone would complain that they call and nobody answers. This would be presented in context of some unresolved problem -- the unanswered phone being *proof* the customer is being jacked around.

Even if we accept that it's not a typical 9-5 phone number, then at best it could only be expected to be a "leave a msg, we'll call you back" phone number. That's basically what you have with email right now. Explain you're more comfortable talking on the phone and ask if they'll call you.

I'm just trying to save you some aggravation. If you want one of the best lights you can have from an apparently stand-up guy, buy one. If you're gonna get nervous about phone calls and the "warmth" of communications (i.e., stuff that doesn't matter), you probably want to look at other lights.

eh, I think if you followed the forums more closely, you'd see that some people are just unreasonable and need to get told to fack off. it's actually pretty great sometimes.

I couldn't get a W90... anyone wanna sell a fixture for a 75x40x75cm (WxDxH) cab? I was already recommended Amare, but they didn't have a fixture suitable for my space.

I'm already using one of THESE in my 25x24x50cm microbox, it works great but they're really expensive and I'd need at least 3 to cover the 75x40 space.

I have been eyeing A51 LED for a few years now and boy have things changed a lot over the years. I currently clone, start and veg indoors under 6 - 48" T-8's. I used to use 6 each 6500 K Fluorescents, but noticed better veg growth when I went with 4 6500's and 2 2700's. My question. I am not going to be blooming with this bulb, but do want some healthy plants. Does anyone have any input for the 5K or 4K for this purpose?

Cheers!:joint:

there's a thread answering your question on the a51 forum: ledgrowlight.lighting/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=3

That was a fun read. From what I understood more power beats special spectrum? The specs on the Cobs say the 5K has a higher Lumen to Watt. Perhaps I should go with the 5?
the 5k is slightly more efficient (less than 1%) than the 4k which is slightly more efficient than the 3k but the differences shouldn't be large enough to determine what spectrum you get. Go with 5k if its gonna be for a veg room only, 4k or 3k for both veg and flower.

Is this company not going to offer cree lights anymore? Thought they would be released when the COB series came out , but all they have is bridgelux.

If you go only by efficiency, or bin numbers (lumens) you aren't seeing the whole picture. If you check the QER values alesh has posted you can see the lower Kelvin spectrum has higher QER value.

room temp in the 70's. company told me to switch out the power supply with one of my other lights to see if its the power supply vs the cob.. havnt got around to it yet hah
whether its the power supply or the cob, the light should be running strong after using it for only one month. I hope its just random, one thing I like about my A51 AF600s is how reliable they have been and thats why I am a returning customer, that and the quality of the herb I have been growing with them. I am about to setup my w90s garden and I am really looking forward to see how they perform. Keep us posted!

The A51 W90's can be locked together with included brackets.
Anyone know if they can be assembled both side to side and/or end to end? Either or?
