It seems to be getting closer to harvest time. Its bagseed and I have no idea what strain it is. I took my loop and used my cell phone to take these pics. take a look and tell me if I'm ready to go.

Three weeks :-( makes me sad, but also lets me learn more as well. I think I'll wait a bit longer, Should I cut back to just water now or a reduced bloom mix?

It's been a little over three weeks now, Not sure I can wait any longer. Here's the newest pics for you! Also... When I put them in a cardboard box, can you put in silica gel or damp-rid to assist or is it better to go slow and steady?

So I'm thinking I see some clear trich's still..... If it was me, personally, I'd let it gor for another week still at least, maybe 2. If you can wait that long guarenteed it's would be worth the wait! How big is the total plant? Because you could harvest say the top half of the plant, and then let the rest finish. That way you'll have at least something to smoke, but still have some PRIME smoke aswell. That's what I'd do anyways.

And for drying, if you have an extra $25 laying around maybe think about a DIY dry box. Here's the one I made, and it dries the bud in 5 day's ish.

Hope this helps!

Is that just a normal fan? which way is the airflow? Great Idea I may do that.

Plant is about 4 feet high, I could cut some sections off of it, but to be honest I'm pressed to get the next batch into the cabinet I built. I could probably make it to Friday before I cut, Any ways to speed up the last few days at all? It's been on regular water for 12 days now.

Damn hooked thats a good idea . I have one of those things just laying around . Is it possible to have no fan and just leave the top off the whole time ?

Nah you can't really speed up the last few days to make it finish earlier... Maybe just pull a BIG flush.

And yea that's just a $13 bathroom fan from home depot. It's a 50 CFM I believe, which is MORE than enough in that rubbermade. And it works like a champion BECAUSE, IMO, for drying you want a PASSIVE exhaust and NO intake. So you have NO air blowing onto the actual buds causing them to dry out too quickly. With MY dry box you have air being SUCKED OUT of the rubbermade and not blown onto the buds which makes for a much, MUCH better dry, IMHO!

Yea but that would kinda be pointless. I mean it'll work, just won't dry it out anywhere near as fast. See, this dry box works so well because it dries the bud out fairly fast, but not TOO fast so that excess starches and sugars are left in the bud. Takes about 5 days to dry 1 plant in there, then into glass mason jars for AT LEAST 2 weeks (burping once a day) to make sure I'm getting a proper cure aswell, so I have the MOST PRIME smoke around!

we all wanna see those sexy amber trich's,
You can leave me out of that; "we all wanna see those sexy amber trich's" nonsense.

I have been growing since 1972 and I will never understand why the site of amber trichomes causes brain blood to rush south and give someone a boner, leaving their brains lacking the amount of blood needed to understand that amber in trichomes is a sign that THC has broken down, that it has oxidized and there is now less THC than before and in its place there is increased amounts of CBN, which only makes you feel confused and messed up and not high and not stoned.

So you are saying as it starts to change from clear to cloudy to amber is when I should harvest?

confused and messed up isn't the same as high and stoned?? well, i'll be damned........you learn something new every day! i know the longer i wait to cut the more the weed puts me on my ass. sometimes its good to have a natural sleep aid .........and sometimes not!

^^ no it is not. Bricktop is right on this. I always harvest at 10% amber or less. Let one tree go till 40-50% Amber and all the effect it had was to put you to sleep and make you feel thick headed. Best to wait till 90% or so cloudy imo...but everyone prefers a different kinda "stone"

alritey mate some of the trichs look clear still. not all plants produce loads of amber but i think nearly all plants should go cloudy. tbh if you can leave it a week that would be best, but if you cant and do chop early maybe adding a bit of extra cure time will change the trichs a little.

still looks like it will be a nice smoke you got man. if they are mostly cloudy with some clear the high will be more up rather than couchlock..which is nice if ya like a buzzy heady smoke. i was just thinking it is possible some buds will finish before others anyway. is there ONE small bottom of the branch popcorn bud ya can take off and sample..
