Arrested For Growing In Connecticut, State Police & Locals Are Out To Get Growers

Howdy Y'all,

Ive been a cancer patient now for 11 months -- I am 26 and the only thing I have found that has worked for me is smoking ganja. I had a small operation which was for personal consumption. Had 2800watts of power going in the setup.

CL&P blew the whistle due to "excessive power consumption" and i got a search warrant executed yesterday AM. It was signed on the 17th of Feb and executed the 23rd.

I was pulled over by locals after coming out of my road and going down the next road, pulled out of the car, searched and brought back home as I have two pitbulls one which is a vicious little bastard but a lover too.. I took care of the dogs with my hands cuffed, got the mean one into a bathroom and they tore apart the house. Suffice to say plants and dried material were found.

Anyway -- be careful everyone; I was released and am home -- Non-Surety 250k bond. But now I have to suffer and deal with the horrible reactions i get from radiation. The only thing that helped was ganja. I was even put on Marinol and it made me SICKER. Hence the reason I began growing my own nugget.

Honestly -- with all the prescription drug abuse, crack, heroin etc going on just a town over (norwalk) and up in bridgeport, new haven and hartford... cant they leave the little guy alone and live and let live.. honestly. Indeed I know what i was doing is against their 'code' of laws.. psh. I woefully acknowledge that any law which disallows a cancer patient with BRAIN cancer -- glioblastoma, any access to anything they need is a law which must changed, abandoned, etc.

They even took my butter and trim!

I did hear them talking about how good the ganj smelled though -- (was 100% organic). And one of the women searching my house joked about how she and some other guy there should try the butter.. hah i wish I had audio going on in my house.

Speaking of which I bet my house is now bugged as will be my car when i get it back.

I was NOT selling anything, not dealing, giving away, or ANYTHING to that effect/affect. I consume 5 grams a day, usually via smoking and have been since a month after I was diagnosed with cancer.

These people really are the scum of the earth -- they did indeed treat me with respect as did I with them.. Yet... it still is just amazing the bullshit that goes on out int he open on the streets while you are driving along that you can see out in the open.. which they do nothing about -- yet they come after a 26 year old guy with brain cancer. I love this state!

I gotta get out of here and move to cali. I am tired of this bullshit.

To all other CT Growers.. WATCH OUT. CL&P will blow the whistle on you. KEEP YOUR SETUPS SMALL AND EFFICIENT. EFFICIENCY IS KEY!

I honestly hope these people who raided me get hit with cancer themselves -- and then see what they think when the only thing that works for them is something they hold in such disdainful regard.

BEWARE! It isn't just the locals.. the state troopers were here as well. Ditto with the tactical narcotics squad. They were acting like i was freaking pablo escobar when they first came onto the property.

All in all though; they were doing their job, I was in the wrong -- although I should be allowed to do what I need to do to be able to live a normal life. I can;t even get out of goddamn bed some days. Alas -- such is life eh? All the good things I do for others, the help with computers, assistance with vehicles, the free advice for fixing stuff from cars to household appliances.. and karma still isn't looking out for me.

Have faith? Hold karma dear? Sometimes I really don't think there is much to live for anymore.. but then I think about the people who have it worse than I do.. and that is how I make it through this dreary existence I currently live.

TO EVERYONE DOING ANYTHING IN CONNECTICUT: BEWARE, WATCH YOUR BACKS, SAY NOTHING, BE CAREFUL AND ABOVE ALL OVERGROW THE GODDAMN GOVERNMENT.. WE NEED THESE LAWS CHANGED!!!

I wish --- the money isnt there to move... if it was I'd jump on it in a heart beat.. I gotta get my surgery done for my tumors first.. and now thats not going to happen due to what Im going to get whacked with for attorney fees and court costs, fines, etc etc... god forbid jailtime... hey if i do maybe they have to pay for my surgery? I don't know.. I am at a loss for words, thoughts, emotions, I do know that after radiation tomorrow I am going to be very sick.. and do not have my usual 'medicine' I wish the individuals who did this to me.. a lot of displeasure in their lives.. and maybe just maybe a few days of cancer to see how I feel. I would not wish my condition upon my worst enemy...sigh.. such is life.

Seems strange to me that 2800 watts would even raise an eyebrow, are you sure someone didnt narc you out then they checked your utilities? Do you mind if I ask how many plants you had? Sorry this happened to you, I have a feeling things will work out for ya.

Positive.. let me tell you 2800 watts running 24/7 for veg here with a 10x15 area, with co2, fans, airpumps, hydro pumps, etc... it adds up.. i was paying an extra 300-450 a month ontop of my usual bill.. so yah.. it raised eyebrows.

It was the main attachment/portion of the affidavit on the warrant.

...which I also have. But I ALSO have over 5kW of PV SOLAR panels that run my lights ALL DAY. So my footprint during the day is next to nothing, my solar provides well over 96% of my electric needs and I don't run the lights at night, period.

Sorry to hear about your loss, that's horrible! At least they didn't shoot your dogs, they did to a friend of mine and he was devastated...the raid didn't bother him as much as the loss of his 2 dogs. Stay strong and keep your chin up, it may be tough, but you can do it!

Seems odd the power company would turn you in unless they thought you were stealing power.

It would seem more reasonable that someone told on you and they subpoenaed the power bill to get the warrant. For all they know without an informant is that you put a hot tub in the basement.

Cops aren't going to tell you someone informed on you.

dont they have to have more evidence than power consumption.. what was on the warrant.

Running 2800 W 24/7 is somewhat pushing it but still doesnt seem outrageous. It is outrageous that they could get a warrant based on only that but I've heard of it happening. If someone did tell I think it would be in the warrant or in other reports but it probably doesnt matter much to you at this point. Hopefully you can afford a decent attorney. Have you thought about contacting the media? Maybe you could get public support on your side.

It really makes me sick to think that these things still happen to good people, but this is a very unjust world. I feel for you and your struggles brother, but don't let this stop you.

We will Overgrow the Government with time. They obviously don't take kindly to people getting their meds from anyone other than "Big Pharm". We will change this with time. Maybe a few people will have to go down for the cause, but in the end we will be victorious.

Truly a sad/frustrating and downright fucked up moment for you. My condolensces. It's really sad to think that someone like yourself will most likely end up having to spend time in jail for this crap- especially given how small time you are. The fact that state and local police were involved definitely makes me think this had nothing to do with the power bill. This sounds more like someone had loose lips. There is a special place in hell for people like that. I'm sure of it. Crack cocaine, heroin, tweek, you'd think would be what they'd concentrate on fighting, given all the crime statistics they lead to. The contrast is night and day. What's even more fucked up is all those cops most likely went home feeling like they did the world a favor.

Pretty much positive as to the power bill thing -- even though no one seems to want to believe it.. they can tell if you are even 500 watts over what you are using... I used to work for the power company.... I know.

I never stole power or stole anything, didnt even have a parking ticket.

Nor speeding or anything else of that point. Never said anything to anyone about it... hey.. they could be sitting on this site and grabbed the pic of my crop from a while ago... that sounds feasible as well.. but attached as a portion of the affidavit re: the warrant is the power bill... a letter from cl&p from august... a few other things but nada else.. no photos, no videos... a few statements about my daily routines which include dr visits and walking my dogs -- where they put that i am like an 'old man' as I have to walk the dogs with one of those folding cane/seat jobbies as I can walk them about a 1/4 of a mile then i'm shot and have to sit.. then regroup and continue..

Its just bullshit all around... there had to easily be 15 cars outside and 40 people. For little ol' me. I'm basically a hermit -- not by choice but because of this cancer crap i barely have the energy to go anywhere.. and with what I had going on I never really had anyone I didnt trust with my life over... such as my fiancee etc.. (ive known her all my life and been involved with her for 8 years).

Anyway -- all in all its a huge cluster fu*k and honestly i hope that everyone who came into my house involved in the raid has to deal with cancer in their lifetime... and i hope as well that the only thing that can help them is marijuana.. as it was the only thing that could help me.. ive tried everything.. even marinol.. and it made me MORE SICK.

I'm 26 and if i dont get this shit out of my head i wont be here past 28... how is this situation really fair.. honestly anyone with malignant tumors should be allowed to do whatever the FUCK we please.. (so long as it does NOT hurt anyone, cause harm or duress, steal, rape, pillage, plunder, burglarize etc). Anyway.. such is life i guess eh? I truly hope they can see things through my eyes, as things are quite bleak at the moment and insurance is no help.. as per the media.. this is southwestern connecticut.. the 'gold coast'... i really doubt i'll get any media outlet on my 'side'.

hard story to read, i mean wtf is wrong with this country? this should be more like a story from the 1950's
i have no doubt that the power usage was used as the warrant pretext, i believe the actionable info must be presented on the warrant
but as others have mentioned, this rate doesn't preclude a lot of legitimate uses, for god's sake, an electric space heater can use that level of power
from what i've read, your best chance to derail this process is in the evidentiary hearing
there should be some grounds where they have precluded legitimate power uses

I'm sorry to hear about your crappy situation, sounds pretty ridiculous! I actually ran across this forum searching for how much energy usage it would take to have the authorities alerted. My buddy recently set up a 1000 watt hps system with a carbon filter and a couple fans nothing else no veg room or anything. Is there anyway this would be enough to cause alert?

Good lord, sorry to hear about your situation, the answer is no, they dont have anything else better to do than spy on you and then raid your house. Lazy fucks, i dont know we pay for their shit. A good idea at this point would be to contact NORML (asap) and any 420 friendly media. Personally, I think the media is a bunch of whores, but maybe you can find someone with a kind edge. NORML or MPP would probably be interested in your story though!
