So im doing a closest grow thats about 5x5x10, my humidity gauge says im at about 20% humidity (sure it is a 5 buck one from home depot) but still... i have read the general rule of thumb is humidity at LEAST above 50%, is there anyway i can increase the humidity??

Do you have extraction? Also, what light are you using? An hps in an enclosed space will dry the air out pretty quickly, and the air needs to be replaced regularly.

im using CFLs... but i live in a naturally un-humid area. so even if i regularly refreshed the air, the humidity would never go up

i have a 400 watt HPS and had issues with my humidity.. come to find out my can fan was the reason.. was sucking out to much air out my grow tent... but if u was to get a humidifier u would be fine..

The way u asked the question I get a feeling you were looking for a cheap/free solution to this problem...While a humidifier is relatively cheap and will do a great job, if you need you might try putting a wet towel in a bucket and pointing your fan over it, this will help add humidity although its not really adjustable and the towel will obviously dry out in a few hours...

ya i considered using a humidifier, but the walls of the closest im growing in isnt layered with anything, basically just wood(still expanding the house) and i was worried that if i had a humidifier it would cause the walls to mold??

think thats possible??
