Asked 1000X already but; if limited to 3 strains, what would they be?

...plz pardon the cliché' question (as opposed to reviving a old thread; and with new strains, equip & methods in mind) ....but if limited to three "permanent" strains, what would you keep? (assuming "non-commercial"/personal use, 400-1000W light, 3x4 - 4x4 tent, and other "averages"; and whatever) ..... also assuming ease of growth, potency, potency, medical value (if any), yield, cost/availability, et

and yeah I'm pretty good at my due diligence (I've actually already read some of those http://www.dailysmoker.com/top-lists/best-cannabis-seeds), but wanted a few fresh replies and appreciate any

Dude, no one can give you accurate advise on which strains to choose because everyone has different tastes and preferences when it comes to strains. There's not 3 universally loved strains that people are all going to agree that you should grow. There are THOUSANDS to choose from. You say you've done the research, but I dare to say that if you really had, you'd be aware of this already. The only advise I can give you is to choose from strains that you've already tried and like, so that you know that your gunna be happy with the finished product. Find out what type of strains you enjoy smoking most, are these strains sativas, are they indicas, are they purple stains? These are the types of questions that you should be asking yourself. No one is inside your mind, so no one can give you accurate advise on which strains you should grow. You need to base your choices on strains that YOU like, not strains that random people recommend.

I would chose the following strains if pressed to do so this evening:

Pride of Moronia, OG Creep, Tommy's Gun.

These are my favorites and have been for many years it seems.

A new favorite that will be debuting at this years Emerald Cup will be called The Johnson. It is a hybrid of Golden Goat and Acapulco Gold. It is very strong and delicious.

That's tough to answer, I can't remember half of the names of some of the stuff I've smoked. But for a outstanding all around great high, the old time Thai Sticks. Just can't find it anymore. I'd be curious to try some of the seedbanks Thai strains.

The three I have got set up beautifully now:

White Widow
- spectacularly relaxing but functional high in edible, smoke and vape
- grows very tall and stringy from clone though; hard to contain in a small perpetual
- good for the outside perimeter of the grow
- I don't like how it grows, but its the only weed that I will actually vape or smoke; the rest I only eat
- plant doesn't do well in high-heat, but it doesn't like a lot of attention
- needs a lot of LST and some HST in small spaces
- does not like being dry (diligence in scheduled watering is required)

Jack Herer
- very short, compact plant
- the very best I've found for a controlled 2L Hempy harvest-every-2-weeks perpetual grow
- *very* quick clone production from the Mom
- very hardy plant
- is tolerant of abuse
- very difficult to cause her stress

Chemdawg:
- medium height, but grows straight up and not outwards
- they pretty well all grow almost exactly the same predictable height, then just stop
- several fit in a very small area (2L bottle) without shadowing out other plants
- another perfect one for perpetual
- very slow for Mom to reproduce clone-worthy clippings
- doesn't like nutrient fluctuations (ie. 1/2 dose, full dose, no dose, 1/2 dose etc... stick to one feeding regimen full, full, none, full)

Wow what an idiotic post. First off, theres no strain on the fucking planet that can get any where close to 53% THC. Secondly, theres no strain on the fucking planet that can get you high for 12 hours. Thirdly, what the fuck do you mean by psychological manipulators? Honest st8 fwd, .... but yes I've read and read till my eyes hurt... but also one other reason I ask is I'm more of a "gardener/hobbyist" than a big time smoker...the damn plant interest the hell outta me and so do the asst varieties people choose (a interesting subject in its own right) ..... while I'm at it; I was VERY hesitant to even poke my head out and ask; lets be real: there are some real fucking A-holes on the net, hiding behind their keyboards waiting to flame someone froma zillion miles away..punk ass bitches basically.... appreciate the intelligent input even if the subject is a lil ubiquitous..... right now Octobers freebies from Attitude also sorta got me stocked....for now its Cindy 99 (again), THC bomb and NL (as my mian players)...I will xperiment with the green crack, purple haze & Bubba Kush...opinions on those strains appreciated BIG time (yes I'll read up also)

I remember Thai stick from the 70's...also used to be some stuff called "Monkey Paw" & "Rainbow" .... my be local names from this part of the country...I dunno

Oh and I've also been playin around with the strain wizard here: and the guide at the http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/ .... so besides reading a zillion journals, I'm tryin to figure out strains that play well together...basically trying to achieve successful multi-strain grows; strains with similar heights/flowering times ..... (again, any real experience/input in this regard appreciated)

Those are all nice strains in my opinion, and they're diverse enough to give you a decent idea of which types of strains you enjoy smoking. From my experience, all of the hyped up strains like OG Kush, Girl Scout Cookies, Bubba Kush, Headband, Green Crack, Grandaddy Purple, Chemdawg, Blue Dream, Purple Kush, The White, Grape Ape, Sour Diesel and all of the countless others, are typically hyped up for a reason. It's because in the hands of the right grower they have the potential to be more potent and of better quality than most strains out there. Like I said before, there are thousands of strains to choose from, but not all of them produce amazing quality cannabis, even in the hands of a skilled grower. There's a whole bunch of strains out there who's genetics are widely accepted to be of better quality and higher potency than your average strain, these strains are generally known as "elites". It's fairly easy to find out which strains are considered elite, they're the strains that you see people growing and talking about over and over and over in all the forums and cannabis related websites, or the strains that have a million pictures and links that pop up in search engines. I haven't ever checked, but I'd be willing to bet that there's probably a website out there that has a comprehensive list of strains that are considered to be elite. Anyone can plant a random seed from an unknown sack and end up with average quality bud a few months later, but if you want to grow truly phenomenal bud, your going to need to get your hands on some elite genetics first. There are dozens of seed companies that produce strains that are considered elite but its up to you to do the research and find out which strains these are. Once your familiar with the dozens and dozens of genetic lineages that permeate the cannabis world, you'll have a pretty good idea at what genetic lineages are known for producing amazing quality cannabis, and by that time you'll be able to look at a strains genetics (parent plants) and have a pretty good idea of whether or not that particular strain or cross can be considered elite. Eventually you'll simply be able to look at the picture of a flowering strain and know if the genetics are on point or not. The best advise I can give you is to keep researching. Trust me when I say that if you want to be an excellent grower one day, it's literally going take 100's, even 1000's of hours of research and reading, asking question and so on. If your not the reading type, you could always attend some cannabis growing classes, but these classes are obviously only offered in the medical MMJ states and they aren't going to cover the majority of things that can be learned by reading and asking questions. What it all boils down to is this. A novice and inexperienced grower can have the most amazing genetics on the planet at his disposal, and still end up growing sub par weed. Genetics are just the foundation, it takes a skilled and knowledgable grower to bring out the full potential in ANY strain. Anyway, I hope that helps you out a little bit bro.

What strains are you interested in growing? To narrow it down to three is crazy because there's so many possibilities. Personal input is I would always want to have GDP around. I also like a good mango strain. Haven't grown a lot of them but the one I've kept is pato #1. To clean my house and the neighbors houses I would go with satori, couldn't save it but going to purchase it again, it's definitely speedy. Much more I haven't grown

Funny, Satori was the 1st seed I bought along with Cindy 99 (I'm a 70's smoker and Kush + "couch lock" ain't my thing)....problem was it comes "regular" only and poor planning had me trashing them before I could sex them in favor of Cindy99 .... ya know I went around looking at the different strains around the web and all they do is cut-n-past the same descriptions over and over...hell half the time they fuck that up, hell even Humbolt seeds gives little specific info on their on friggin stuff (height is given as "medium" or some dumb shit like that) ....and reading growers journals makes it hard to parse and organize info...
